Good flavor. A touch oaky with dark chocolate and cinnamon. A touch thin for an añejo. Good, but the weakest of the Alma line.

the aroma is nice, but this tequila is far too sweet. it resembles few of the characteristics that make tequila special. the blanco and reposado in this series tower over the anejo, but these suffer from too much sugary sweetness.

My least favorite of the flight. It's slightly bitter with a slight hint of caramel. The finish is bold and nice but the aroma is lacking. I can't really get a hint of anything on the nose.

Vanilla and caramel on the nose. The taste and finish was sweet with a short oily lingering. This was to sweet and made me think additives. Some of our group enjoyed the flavor.

Tasted the Blanco, repo and anejo in a horizontal tasting. Blancon was the best of the bunch. This one (anejo) had a decent aroma with nice caramel and agave. Very disappointing flavor and finish. Very bitter. Only good for mixing with a lot of other ingredients to mask this mess.

Really wasn’t expecting a whole lot when I bought this, I liked the bottle for my collection and it was inexpensive. The surprise here is that I liked it. Slightly sweet without the heat. It’s an easy drinker that may find itself in the regular rotation with Suerte and tres agaves.

Review #266 - Alma de Agave Tequila Anejo

Alma has been a favorite value brand of mine with their blanco and reposado. For $30 and under, it's one of the best lines you can fine.
