Nose: Ripe agave with lots of fruitiness (maybe dark cherry), ensconced in balanced baking type barrel spices, with vanilla cream laced with nutmeg. Under all this rich spicy sweetness, resides mineral and root vegetable aromas. Flavors: Very pleasing and vibrant sensations in the mouth, yet not terribly oily. White pepper, cinnamon heat, vanilla and toffee, with agave front and center. Finish is round, creamy but still packing a punch. This bottle is of an indeterminate age. I’ve had it for a decade, and the tax stamp is in an older format that does not bear a date. Still pretty tasty!

NOM 1079, Mexican 38% abv. version, marbete is from 2003, on the rear of front label: 06/09/04 LOTE 127, tasted on 11-18-23. Color: yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, mineral, slightly earthy, light pepper spiciness, aromatic green vegetal notes, after 20 minutes in the glass the cooked agave becomes sweeter. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, cooked agave notes are sweeter on the palate. Light resinous sweetness. Finish is medium to medium long, light sweet cooked agave with light resinous sweetness, mineral & earthy notes persist.

Review #285 - Agave Dos Mil Tequila Reposado

Agave Dos Mil came recommended to me by a trusted source and while it's not the easiest tequila to find, the price tag made it worth a shot.
