Probably the best of the bunch but give me a non diffuser and additive made tequila any day.

This product is clearly leaning on the companies whisky making expertise, it’s a really good Añejo considering the base ingredient. Classic example of how the use of oak can mask blemishes in a Blanco.

Heavy wood nose with fruit, nuts and spices. Flavor slaps you with a bitter resin note. Fruit and agave are overpowered by the heavy oak and bourbon flavors. A little caramel is attempting to peak through.

Eh, it's pretty good for a mass-market añejo, but I'm tasting the mass market more than I'm tasting the agave or the barrel. I'd rather pay up.

Was looking for an acceptable anejo at a low price and loved Sauza’s Black Barrel Anejo , so thought I’d try this . It’s Just ok , drinkable , hey it’s only $28 bottle . Not much aroma , a little aged barrel notes , some agave . Think I’ll stick with their black barrel anejo as it’s much better , imho .

Delicious low end additive tequila. Little peppery on the back end, but honestly very smooth for an additive low end anejo.

Mixed feeling on the nose…. Alcohol / bit of shoe-polish is the first thing that pops out, followed by oak, cooked agave, vanilla, caramel and a hint of buttercream. Medium mouthfeel. Really nice dark golden-amber color. Slightly-sweet upfront then a sharp cracked-pepper bite that lingers through a spicy and somewhat astringent / medicinal warm finish.

Great value very smooth but, it has no flavor what so ever so I guess for shots this añejo is good but definitely not as a sipper.

Amber color 3 of 4, with orange tones and golden shades, brilliant, clean and transparent. Nose notes, aromas of cooked agave, caramel, chocolate, vanilla, orange blossom, woods and dried fruit, aroma promise of black pepper. Mouth notes, a little astringent with good in flavor, sweet, velvety in mouth and with a good finish, in the back taste confirms black pepper. Highly recommendable, great choice for a very nice Añejo Tequila.

Not a fan of green agave. Slightly resembles the earthy, woodsy flavor of a Mezcal. Me no like.

This is a good one to show that you probably need to spend a little dough for an anejo. Nothing offensive about it, it's just not interesting as a sipper, and the finish wasn't smooth enough. Two-thirds of the bottle went to making some anejo margaritas that were fairly tasty.

Woody aroma, smooth taste and easy finish. Definitely a quality table tequila.

The nose shows lots of bad alcohol quality.(acetone) Beyond that there is a lot of dry oak. Not much agave. The agave flavor is flat but the taste brings lots of pepper.

A great introductory sipper. Priced around $25 a 5th size bottle is a great value. A little too much flavor for mixing but cheap enough you still can use as a mixer. Aroma of Agave, Smoke, Dark Chocolate, slight oily mouthfeel with a rush of vanilla, dark chocolate, cooked agave, and smokiness followed by slight oak, peppercorn and a light alcohol burn on the finish.

Really good tequila and well worth the about $20 a 5th price. Definitely a well aged anejo litte more tasty than a good reposado. Good as a sipper or mixer. A ++ quality. Don't get the snobby reviews.

Review #145 - Sauza Hornitos Tequila Anejo

This is a decent follow up to the Hornitos Reposado. By far Sauza Hornitos' best effort.
