NOM 1586 | This profile is good and has basic framework Organoleptic structure: Very similar to its reposado expression, just sweeter and oak-forward

1580? Butterscotch. Oak. Tasty but disjointed.

Definition of a solid old school añejo. Nose and palate are a perfect match and well balanced. Agave forward, dried fig, raisins, yams, mocha, cinnamon spice all come together nicely to make this older NOM 1079 version a must in any home bar. Harder to find now. So grab any you can find.

Buttery on the nose with some alcohol. Taste butter, honey, oak, apple, pepper, and whiskey, with some bite and a slight aftertaste.

NOM 1079 | NOM 1079 Lot 23. A very nice añejo from a distillery that turned out more than a few. If you see the old NOM buy, buy, buy.

NOM 1079 | LOTE 05, bottled on 31/12/04, tasted on 10-8-23. Color: yellow to dark yellow. Aroma: cooked agave, vanilla, light stone fruit sweetness, slight acidity, light camphor wood note. Buttery. Light citrus. A touch of lactic note. Minty. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour & citrus balance. Finish is medium to medium long, cooked agave and citrus notes persist.

Aroma: sweet agave, oak, caramel, spices, and a surprising hint of mint in the background. Taste: Very tasty, matching the aromas, plus vanilla and a buttery sweetness, along with a touch of smooth heat from the alcohol (40%abv). Finish is very smooth and lingers nicely.

NOM 1580. Traditional tequila with a nice mineral taste. Very smooth. It really shines with ice and lime. A great bargain if you can find it!

NOM 1586 | Awesome. Super creamy, delicate while complex. Soft finish.. Only gives option to rate as three different bins but the one I’m enjoying is 1580.. not 1586.

NOM 1580 Lote 001 El Olor: Vegitial and cooked agave. Typical “cheap tequila” pungency. Not a lot of depth. El Sabor: Starts creamy and buttery but finds a bit of pepper near the end. Strong alcohol bite accompanying the trailing end. El Final: Nice lingering burn. Warm. Nutty after taste. Possibly the best part of this Tequila.
