This tequila has a pronounced nose that invites tasting. It is unusually strong in alcohol and carmel. The finish is almost immediataely and full.

Nose: Barrel spice, floral and fruit notes, earth and minerals. Flavor: Pepper and banana bread spices. Toasted nuts and sweet agave/honey. A touch on the sweet side and a hint of bitters. Finish is bit hot, with a hint of mint and a mustiness. Probably great in a mixed beverage.

12/11/17 $18 Pears, musty wood, agave. It's like grappa with an agave kick but still my sense is I've imbibed sophistication.

Meh. It was on sale and I thought to give it a try since already inexpensive. It was $17 for fifth.

Fruity and fresh agave light and complex, thin with refreshing notes of pears and green grapes. Great for the price.

Aroma: cocked agave, oak, black pepper, a little bit to alcohol. Flavor: sweet cocked agave, black pepper, cinnamon, honey very mellow. Nice tequila and grate value. Would buy it again. Wow!

I compared this directly with tequila Ocho reposado. I prefer Ocho because it is smoother in the finish. However, this tequila is quite impressive at one third the price. The finish is not as smooth and it has a more intense flavor and darker color.

I must admit, I'm not a huge fan of the aroma of this tequila, but the flavor, finish, and value are really nice. The price is very affordable, which means you can make a nice cocktail with it and not go broke. I can drink it straight and be happy, too.

750 mL bottle for $102 MX pesos - didn't know what to expect from this highlands brand. Aroma: some sweetness, fruit, pepper, caramel & definite American whiskey/bourbon. Flavor:semi oily,semi-sweet with cherry?,agave, earthy, spice & caramel - hits the back of the palate. Medium finish spicy caramel tones - def heat with lingering mint? Definitely get that American whiskey flavor on the back of your palate. Very nice - don't let the cheap price scare you away - definite bargain Reposado

Tequila Hacienda Vieja Reposado warms you up without burning a hole in your pocket

At a cost of about $15 (on sale) to $20 for a 750ml bottle, Hacienda Vieja Tequila Reposado seems like a great value for the money.
