I like this offering best of the four tequilas Gran Centenario produces. Smooth, nice finish, reasonably priced. I find it a good value for mixing or occasional sipping.

Nose: An unidentifiable floral or fruity note layered in oak sawdust. Arid earth. Flavor: Hot and bitter entry. There is some sweetness that has an aftertaste that is not pleasant. Hints of caramel or butterscotch, but masked in the overwhelming bitterness.

Aroma: very Floral and sweet with a hint of Vanilla Flavor: Very woody. Definitely can taste the White Oak barrel with a far hint of caramel. Smooth finish almost no burn.

Love the bottles for this brand, so a couple bonus points. Nose let’s on to how this one goes for the whole journey. Some really refreshing vegetal notes, cinnamon candy (like those little valentines hearts). Well roasted, almost over cooked agave that hides under everything else. Some bitter notes, green pepper ish, on the palate. More cinnamon hearts. Oak, which adds nice balance. Caramel squeaks in at the end. Decent mouthfeel for the price, but probably through additives unfortunately. Warm at the end, but not even close to hot. Finishes too quickly, with mostly bitter notes. Not for everyone, but definitely up my alley.

Super thin nose, mostly alcohol with some sweetness. Flavour is fairly similar to the nose. Finish also quite thin.

This to me is a solid Reposado. I wouldn't say it's ground breaking but I like it a lot and it has a firm spot in my collection. It's a good standard with some of my favourites above and many lesser liked tequilas below. The aroma is quite nice with a strong cooked agave scent, caramel, oak, and even a hint of orange. The flavour is maybe where it loses a few marks as the alcohol comes through and has a tiny bite. The finish afterwards brings back the pleasantness. Overall quite nice and I do enjoy it. Bought in the Duty Free on a layover in Cancun Airport for maybe 600 Pesos (if I remember correctly). NOM 1122

Definitely better than the blanco, the oak slightly mellows out the strange chemical taste. Not the worst but a ways from good.

The oak treatment helps this out a bit, tons of mint and bitterness from the barrel.

Peppery nose, hint of salt and citrus. Sweet and citrusy body with a hint of agave. Syrupy finish, honey and a small hint of pepper lingers.

Recently revisited this one with a bottle that was brought back from Mexico. It was thoroughly enjoyable. I'm suspicious that the tequila packaged for the locals is always better than we get here in the states.

My everyday tequila. Nothing to outspoken, so wont get bored of it. Fantastic value for money and great introduction for non-tequila drinkers.

Smells like the alcohol and spice of a blanco. The type of bell curve the Kinsey's wish they had found regarding numbers of good times to be had per week. Nice, a bit subtle to start with, moving to a solid centre with lots of bravado, then snuggles down to nice reminiscences of the last five seconds.

Got this for about $12 US for 750ml at a Mexico City Walmart on sale in Jan 2015. Not sweet, not bitter. I am pleased with this for the price.

Review #263 - Gran Centenario Tequila Reposado

Moving backwards. I had the Gran Centenario Anejo and I liked it a lot more than I thought that I would. I'm always up for being pleasantly surprised a 2nd time by the same brand.
