Aroma is full of cherry, butterscotch, and smoke. Flavor hints on agave but cloves overpower. Finish has some vanilla and astringent with a sweet medicinal after taste

Well we have fixed the harsh ending with more oak treatment but the base still hasn’t improved, I just don’t dig their house style.

Nose: Butterscotch, earth, dark cherry notes with oak and some smokiness. Flavor: Oily with warming barrel spices, predominantly cinnamon and cloves. Vanilla and pepper roll in next, followed by a slightly annoying sweet aftertaste with some bitterness. A hint of sulfur.

Strong alcohol and oak... Prefer the repo.

Beautiful amber color with a wonderful consistency. Aroma; agave, citrus, wood and spice. Taste; pepper, honey, wood and light agave., with a lingering sweet finish. Unfortunately the pepper overwhelms all other flavors for me. Lacks the smoothness I enjoy in an Anejo.

Too harsh for an anejo, but decent flavor.

Mexican 38% abv. versión, lote: 22101112, bottled on 13-10-2022, tasted on 4-14-24. Color: yellow to dark yellow. Aroma: light cooked agave, light acidity, light earthiness, slightly herbal, hint of vanilla and hint of wood note. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, vanilla note is quite intense on the palate, creamy & buttery. Finish is medium to medium long, hint of cooked agave with vanilla, light wood note, slightly herbal with a hint of earthiness persists.

No great aroma up front. Harsh bite up front with pepper. Really, just not great. Drink Hornitos black barrel instead. It'll make you happier for the price.

Light in body and flavor. Easy drinking for a bigging Tequila drinker or for mixing.

Uncomplicated and simple Anejo. Easy to drink compared to their Reposado. Notes of caramel and lightly smoked oak and agave. Smooth finish with little to no heat and floral undertones

Good flavor of hoped and cooked agave. In my opinion really good traditional tequila flavor with a nice finish. The finish is pretty smooth.

Not very smooth for a anejo. Caramel, pretty harsh. Honey sweetness. Harsh after taste. Meh.

A little vanilla in the nose and in taste. A little hot but finishes smooth with the heat playing in well. It’s ok drinking, but meh for anejo.

I actually enjoy this as a spirit. But, like others have said, you could blind this in a bourbon tasting and most wouldn’t question it. I would drink this instead of many bourbons in the same price range

$14 pour. Too over-oaked for me personally, the barrel notes (and possibly additives) obscure any agave. On the plus side I don’t taste any defects or diffuser notes, it’s just basic and reminds me of more of a bourbon than anything else. Much better to choose from in this price range.

Started out very strong, almost like gasoline. Evened out quickly into sweetness with a slight black licorice taste to it

This was too expensive at $60 for this bottle. This tequila isn’t awful but it’s not as smooth or flavorful as I like nor for the price range. At first I hated it, but then it grew on me a little. Then I drank a good tequila and realized what I was missing.

I would love to rate higher but just as with the reposado, this anejo is brutally inconsistent. One bottle will be so good you can't believe it. Maple over chocolate. You'll run to the store for another and get particle board/cereal and way too much oak and whiskey flavor.

Color is light for an Anejo, in my experience. Nice legs on the glass. Nose: Hint of vanilla with herbaceous (agave, minty) background. Taste: Sipping more vanilla, caramel & agave. Bit of a slight alcohol bite at the end.

Aroma is good. Oak for sure. Finish is like licking a cigar box. Not much for taste

Review #259 - Corralejo Tequila Anejo

This is my last review of the Corralejo line. I've been really impressed with rest of the line. Very good flavor and really good value. I hope the anejo is as good as his younger siblings.
