NOM 1595 - Very unique and out of the ordinary tequila. Strong aromas of caramel, vanilla, cream soda. Flavors abound on the sweet side with vanilla and caramel bring heavy hitters. Finish is sweet with a hint of pepper leaving long silky legs behind. Price is steep perhaps because of the artesanal bottle included in the purchase. .

NOM 1595 | Waaaaay too sweet for me, tastes like someone mixed tequila with maple syrup! This product pisses me off because it sells so well at duty free and so many people think this is what tequila is suppose to taste like.

NOM 1595 | Nose: Oak, black pepper, caramel, vanilla and resin. Flavor: Super concentrated sweetness, heavy pepper and oak. No agave or complex notes.

I remember liking this tequila when I first got started with the spirit. Then I learned that I didn’t really enjoy sweetened tequila, so I stopped drinking it in favor of artisan small batch non-sweetened products. Just tried it again, and sorry, it’s too sweet for me now.

NOM 1416 | Sweet like pancake syrup with an aftertaste that is somewhat chemical in nature. This is a gateway tequila for many non-tequila drinkers along with DJ 1942. Stick with Don Julio 1942 as it tastes more natural.

NOM 1416 | Again, sweet and heavily manipulated, but more forgivable in an aged version. This is a gateway for many people, who will hopefully move beyond this liquid candy to more natural expressions of tequila. This would be a nice after dinner dessert sipper, at least.

Edited 8/2021 Oh my, how my tastes have changed in 5 years. Thank you Clase Azul for getting me into sipping tequila but we can no longer hang together.

Tasted blind: Agave, vanilla and caramel nose and taste. A bit too sweet for my taste. Medium to oily body with a spice and wood finish. Tasted next to Karma Reposado. I preferred the Karma and it is half the price.

NOM 1416 | Tasted blind! Wow...smooth, a tad thin and very sweet, too sweet if your not in the mood for sweet sweet?.. Bell on bottle top cool and helps it score bonus points!

NOM 1416 | I used to really love this early on in my tequila explorations. It got me excited about craft tequilas. However, I have a hard time drinking it now. There's a bunch of odd things in competition here. Overall, it comes across as a poorer quality product that has been doctored after distillation. The primary characteristic is its sweetness, but it doesn't seem like a sweetness that comes from wood. I would expect a repo of this color, viscosity and sweetness to have scent or flavors of vanilla or caramel, but instead, I get undertones of unpleasant flavors I find in thinner tequilas behind all the sweetness. I really think this is something not that great out of the still, and then they dump in agave nectar. However, it is possible I have no idea what I'm talking about. I don't recommend the Clase Azul line. At such a high price point, there's so many better options out there for less.

NOM 1416 | Fantastic reposado. Discreet aroma, sweet and complex in flavor. Incredible, lingering finish. One of the best. However, the price is steep.

NOM 1416 | Peppery in SUCH a sippable way. Crazy smooth with all that spice and chocolate. Wish the bottle didn't look like... Well, you know.

NOM 1595 | Taste great but may be a little overly sweet for some. Heavy on the vanilla and caramel. Definitely has additives. But none the less a smooth tequila. Big time overpriced though. You’re paying for the bottle and the popularity.

Quite a sweet aroma and taste. Vanilla notes and a slight milk chocolate background.

This scored low for me because I’m learning more about tequila and the additives. This use to be one of my favorites, but I have learned so much since joining this group. I still think it’s a very nice tequila. But there are so many better ones without all the additives. Now this is so sweet to me I can’t drink. Big shame because I have almost a full bottle left.

Well...I would say it's exactly what I expected. Incredibly smooth, but in an obvious additive-added way. No burn at all, which is just plain WRONG -- especially for a reposado. Now, all that being said -- if you are looking for a smooth, nice-tasting liquor that is highly overpriced, then this is your juice.

NOM 1595 | This is an incredible tequila and a beautiful bottle. I drink tequila just about every night and wish I could afford this one more often but it’s out of my price range. The flavors are so complex and delicious, I could probably drink the entire bottle in one night. I definitely don’t feel like you can buy a tequila anywhere close to this flavor profile for under $100 (if you know of one, let me know). I think the cinnamon notes separates it from the rest but it offers so much, it’s hard to identify everything. A lot of flavors, especially for a reposado. Maybe that’s due to additives, but it sure is delicious.

NOM 1595 | Honestly it’s been a long time since I’ve tried this. I went I to it with an open mind and it was so much worse than I remember. It tasted like flat Coca Cola. The sweetness was offensive. This reminds me of some of the Giffard Liqueurs and not of tequila at all. For a Repo with that much color and zero flavor of oak, this is not worth the money people are paying for it. Buyer beware.
