Very smoky with a lovely finish. The sweetness of the agave comes through along with the smokiness which is a unique and favorable combination Nose is wood, some tropical fruit, which is special The finish is excellent
Nose- Slightly sweeter aroma, oak with aromas of caramel. Almost caramel candy like. Palate- Much more oak influence, sweeter, almost like an anejo. Strong caramel/vanilla flavors, cooked agave, baking spices, alcohol presence. Finish- Slightly shorter finish, oak barrel sweetness really carries through, overall woody finish. Notes- Almost Anejo like, slightly harsher, with more alcohol presence, being helped along with a healthy dose of oaky sweetness.
Eye- nice golden color with slow dripping legs Mouthfeel- buttery Nose- cooked agave, deep leather, fruit, caramel, barrel notes and minerality Taste- nice cave, sweetness buttery, pitted fruit, barrel oakiness, with a slight bitterness like orange peel, dark chocolate and butterscotch. This one has a short finish that dissipates quickly.
Nice barrel nose with sweetness and beautiful color in glass. Palate is easy going with a slight heat finish. Nice from start to finish for me. This was a nice relaxing sip. Tasted with AF 2024 Blind Repo. My highest rated tasting.
Despite being a reposado, it has the characteristics of an añejo. Dark colored with an aroma consisting of: slight agave, whiskey, banana, butterscotch. Taste matches the aroma with an oaky touch.
Overall - very nice . . . delicately balanced w/ beautiful hue. Aroma - "full" w/ whiffs of chocolate + cinnamon. Flavor - moderate sweetness but not overpowering. Finish - bit of sweetness but also spice nicely lingers. Balanced well.
Appearance is dark honey. N- honey, agave, fairly floral, vanilla, earth, apple, cherry, dusty oak T- baked agave, light bourbon (oak, vanilla), honey, pineapple, just a hint of jalapeno MF- full bodied F- medium in length and very well balanced
Distillery tasting 80 Blind tasting: 81 Earthy, musty, char barrel/match on the nose—very unique. Got some agave, orange, and whiskey flavor.

Volcán de mi Tierra - Reposado This Reposado is created with 100% Highland (Los Altos) agaves! The tequila is then aged for 135 days, which is just over two months, in new American and European oak. It has a rich nose. I smell the cooked agave, baking spices, orange citrus oil and oak. I taste cooked agave, orange bitters and the caramelized topping from crème brûlée. There is a peppery alcohol tingle on the mid pallete. The flavors linger on the finish due to its nice viscosity. This is a powerful Reposado and it’s one I’d recommend you trying. I’m not accustomed to European oak so I’m getting some notes I’m not used to. Salud!
Complex, well made, addictive free Repo, good mouth feel, slight sweetness with citrus and a little heat. I like this one
Nose - Agave, caramel, oak, bourbon, dark fruit, butter Taste - Agave, caramel, oak, honey, bourbon, baking spices, pepper. medium mouth feel Darkest but yellowish. Light mouth feel Tasting 2 Nose- Agave, Carmel, oak, bourbon, butter, Fruit Taste - Agave, butterschotch, honey, spices, pepper, dark fruit Tasting 3 Nose - Agave, caramel, oak, aerosol butter, Fruit, raisin, bourbon, Taste - Agave, butterschotch/toffee, honey, spices, pepper, dark fruits, dark chocolate, aerosol
A lot of agave and sweetness on the nose. Really pleasant vanillas and caramels coming through and a little apple as well. Much different taste. Agave, pepper and spice. A bit of caramel and butterscotch sweetness. Peppery and long finish. Very good overall but maybe a bit overpriced.
Smokey, vanilla, honey, molasses, Citrus,
Cooked agave, oak and cinnamon. Let it rest a bit before tasting. Good tequila to keep around.
Soft nose…. Some alcohol, butterscotch. Amber color. Medium mouthfeel. Mildly sweet with a peppery, long finish.
When I crack open a new bottle and don't get a decent amount of agave coming through, I know I probably won't buy it again. For me, tequila needs agave forward regardless of expression. I drink tequila because of the agave, and this Volcan Reposado just didn't have enough for me for $75+. I can spend $55 for El Tesoro Reposado or Siete Leguas Blanco for less and be completely happy.
Good, honest tequila but it’s not for me. Reminded me of Gran Orendain Reposado. Will try their blanco next time.
Smells sweet immediately out of the bottle, but not particularly sweet on the tongue. Personally, I found it to be mildly sweet up front, then a little smoke, then a slight alcohol backflash up through my nose. Black pepper came later. Overall I would definitely recommend this tequila it's a tasty, smooth sipping tequila (I use 1 big ice cube in all my drinks).
Agave/floral on the nose. Lots of agave/vegetal flavors on the palate, with a welcoming finish that lingers. A solid option all around.
Lote: L142E220287, bottled on 19-05-2022, tasted on 10-1-23. Color: yellow to dark yellow. Aroma: cooked agave, vanilla, cinnamon, wood note gets more intense with more time in the glass, slight acidity. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, vanilla cinnamon & wood notes are dominating. Ends slightly spicy, citrus and slightly bitter & astringent. Finish is medium to medium long, light cooked agave, vanilla, cinnamon & wood notes persist.
This is really nice…the aroma is powerful- oaky with pepper and delicious agave; the flavor is…it’s really good with a wet agave pepper some barrel spice and ending with a long lasting vanilla cinnamon oaky flavor… mmm. A few weeks later and it’s more like a whiskey than a tequila…strong oaky barrel spice- the agave seems missing tonight??
Smooth taste, weak finish, slightly sweet

Aroma/Taste – The oak-aged bourbon is unmistakable. This has all the typical notes of barrel aging, vanilla, caramel, leather. Upon first sip, all the baking spices are there, cinnamon, clove, pinch of nutmeg; I also smell pine. While the essence of agave is discernible, it takes a backseat to the robust presence of bourbon. Finish – Herbal and green pepper on the finish. I enjoy a nice, long finish here. This is warm all the way down. Overall – I really enjoyed this tequila. It's a standout choice for introducing bourbon enthusiasts to the nuanced and delightful world of tequila. Though I appreciated its complexity, I wished for a more pronounced presence of agave, rather than it taking a supporting role.
