Had all three, as someone stated, very similar in profile/flavors with sameness probably due to process and differences due to agaves used in infusion. Aromas of strong cooked agave, cinnamon, vanilla, spices and faint caramel. Flavor of cooked agave, burnt sugar, some jalapeño/oily residue with certain sweetness. A nice change of pace and good conversation piece for sure. A must for any collection.

This is an infused 100% Blue Weber Agave Blanco. They take 1000 liters of 100 proof Blanco and then they place 21 kgs of cooked Blue Weber into cotton bags that are then seeped for 5 days. It’s then filtered to remove particles and proofed to 40% abv - 80 proof. The color comes from the infusion. This tequila isn’t aged nor rested in oak. Originally this was going to be an extension to the Tequila Ocho line but it’s an independent brand with 2 other infusions. If you have never smelled cooked agave from a horno, this is the closest experience that you can have without actually smelling cooked agaves at a distillery. It’s cooked agave sweetness. It’s buttery and one note but that one note is excellent. Surprise! The buttery cooked agave smacks your palate. It’s a nice rustic agave taste. There’s some minerality and pepper but it’s mostly agave. It has a pleasant medium finish.

Presents the most amazing aromas when opened and poured. Sweet roast agave permeates the area reminding me of the oven spaces at La Alteña. Pepper on the palate is accentuated by the infusion of the agave azul. Side by side with the original labeled El Primero Curado it's hard to distinguish much difference between the 2013 issued original and the 2019 release. I was anticipating perhaps a small amount of oxidation from the older bottle but it's not there. Perhaps a bit more overall depth to the newer bottle. I wish these had a wider distribution being a one off Ocho product and I look forward to the next wave from Los Alambiques.

Lot BC 008 Bottled 02/09/2019 Straw colored. Nose: You are immediately greeted with the aroma of mature roasted agave fresh from the horno. There is a panoply of sweet and lively spices mingled with light colored tree fruit and orange peel. A faint nuance of woodiness and warm butterscotch. Some earthy cellar notes, and a dash of black pepper. Flavor: Bold agave is congruous to the nosing. The flavor carries an incense quality that is tough to pigeonhole. Honey sweetness and sensation on the palate - with kicked up pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom heat. Really quite a departure from my experience. Finish: Creamy butterscotch undercurrent, with pepper counterpoint and trace bitterness. On the sweeter side - wouldn’t want to drink it all night.

LOT BC-001, bottled on 10/09/2018 in La Alteña. Color: very light yellow. Aroma: sweet cooked agave. Green aromas from pressed agave fibers, hay, minty, fresh, floral notes, a hint of white pepper, light bodied but very aromatic! Palate: intense sweet cooked agave! Light black pepper, floral notes, light resinous concentrated sweetness. Green note is quite intense. Alcohol sensation is very low. Slightly orange-y. Finish is medium to long, clean sweet cooked agave note persist.

Lote: BC-001/ 10/09/2018 Refreshing floral earthy scent. Semi strong alcohol sensation that gradually spreads in mouth. Olive finish. *The refreshing floral scent dissipates substantially after sitting in glass for 10minutes.

Cupreata (Agave Azul) $53 USD (Ferment and Still) Lot BC-011 11/05/2022 Overall: Sensational and easy to sip, but is on the sweeter side.  The Agave Azuel starts off with the wonderful qualities of Tequila Ocho's blanco line and adds a warm, earthy, and barrel aged presence - without the barrel aging.  Bold cooked agave. Soft fruits, soft baking spice, and truly enjoyable.  Rather than piece together my thoughts, I'll simply tell you to read Don Heiser's notes - he is spot on.

Update: Glencairn glass; aroma muted: taste: agave silky mouthfeel; no alcohol burn on the finish; ends with sweetness; very easy to drink - no change to score Update: same aroma; flavor is layered with pepper and baked agave. +1 point Aroma: sweet baked agave, some cinnamon Taste: lot going on here; some good heat and burn. Going to have to come back to this one for fair review… Update 11/8/23: more I revisit this the more I dig the flavors of this curado. Well done +1 for flavor

I didn’t know what to expect from this with its infusion of agave but it’s pretty decent. Quite a smoky taste but not bad at all.

A complex nose of agave, fruit (plum?), pepper, honey and alcohol in the background. Same is true on the palate. Not quite sure about this one, first tasting …
