NOM 1500- Re-Evauated upwards. I loved it, a delicious wine barrel aged anejo. Very nice and flavorful.

I think this compares in price with the Azunia Black 2 year Añejo. Quite a bit of barrel influence but the agave from the Blanco is still lurking in the background behind all the butterscotch. pepper and baking spice.

NOM 1500 | Aroma: Thick aromas of cooked agave, caramel, vanilla, butterscotch, baking spices, and a tinge of cinnamon. Taste: Deep sweet cooked agave across the palate, with oak and butterscotch. Finish: A burst of baking spices, ultra smooth. Overall: Phenomenal.

NOM 1616 | That’s one of the most bland tequilas i have ever had. Almost zero flavor on this.

NOM 1616 | When I initially open the bottle, got vanilla aromas. After letting it sit and open up, got aromas of cooked agave, butterscotch, caramel, and orange peel. This was my first high proof to taste. On the tasting profile, had those barrel notes pull through with cooked agave, caramel, with a good level of spice to it. Also has a very nice finish.

for 88 proof, this is pretty sweet! but definitely natural sweetness. really nice caramel and butterscotch notes, with a bit of agave coming through. I really dig it!

NOM 1616 | Excellent tequila. Notes of oak, light (but not absent) agave, caramel, cinnamon, cedar. Slight natural sweetness to it. It kinda reminded me of Patron Burdeos. It lacks the strong “new white oak” high tannin flavors that the other Codigos have, which isn’t my favorite. The bottle I got was selling for $72.00 at a local spot… normally goes for 175ish. I’d have given it a higher “value” but I based my review here on its normal price point of the 175. ~ at 72.00 it was absolute steal for what this delicious stuff is.

NOM 1616 | Oak , baking spice , alcohol, some cooked agave this is definitely a whiskey drinkers Anejo but I do love the high proof , I feel I only gave it an 81 because of the price at $145 I could buy some better bottles

NOM 1616 | Smooth, light. Vanilla, butter.. butterscotch I like it. It’s not as bold as many for an Anejo. The alcohol is subtle. A little hint of fruit too.

Codigo Anjeo Barrel Strengh is 88% ABV and is the star of their line up for me. At $160 (Sip Tequila) this is not your budget anjeo, but it's a pleasure to sip.

NOM 1616 | The Nose- this is complex and detect more and more with each sample. Fruit, currant berries, influence from the Cabernet barrels is over the top, peat, oak The Palate- pepper, vanilla, slight chocolate and again the Cabernet oak barrels add depth across the palate. The Finish- sweet, peat wood with well balanced agave and slight peppers Just another reason Codigo is at the top of my favorites list.

NOM 1616 | A tequila that reminds of a bourbon. At 88 proof it drinks surprisingly smooth.

NOM 1500 | My favorite Código offering to date!! My score is based off a comparison to other Código bottlings. Yes, it says "Barrel Strength", but is such a soft sip. I love a delicate tequila. Easy on the agave up front, some soft spice in the middle, and then followed by a hint of candy sweetness on the finish. Bring on Batch #2!!!

NOM 1500 | very different to other tequilas. the 86 prof allowes the tequila to conserve that oak and bourbonesk note. Very good.
