aromas of agave, oak, baking spice, alcohol. orange blossom. flavor is definitely that of an anejo. oak, cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, orange peel, baking spice, cinnamon . good mouth feel. better than the Espolon offerings these days (6/2021), Altos is an excellent mixer and good sipper for the money

Was unfortunately very let down by this one. Love the blanco, like the repo. This just tasted muted from start to finish. Unpleasant amount of alcohol on the nose, tasted burnt all through the flavor. Would not buy this again.

Aroma : Oak, almonds and nutmeg. A small amount of dried fruit and citrus. Taste : Flavors like agave, citrus, and the vegetal "green" notes from Olmeca Altos are present. Plenty of oak, but a little bit of caramel as well. More almond and some baking spice. Feel is light/medium bodied with some oils, but not as much as I would prefer. Finish : Short/medium length with predominating oak and caramel. Some agave and spice. I think this is somewhat similar to the Reposado in the sense that I would like some of the notes to be more distinguishable from one another, but this still a great bargain tequila.

NOM 1111, on sale $31/bottle 750. Aromas include almond, dry fruits, wood oak, vanilla, vegetal, apricot, roasted nuts and chocolate. Flavor hints on cooked and raw agave with chocolate, almonds, caramel, earthy vegetal notes, and bourbon barrels. Finish is all roasted agave, caramel, wood and chocolate. Overall is a mouthfeel with caramel, chocolate, vanilla and vegetal notes but not much agave.

3rd night: The initial aroma is relatively soft and pleasant, characterized by oaky whiskey tones intermingled with notes of cooked agave, light minerality, honey, and subtly scathing ethyl. An inviting essence of delicious cherry adds to the anticipation. Upon tasting, the palate is immediately enveloped by prominent oak and whiskey flavors, a tolerable peppery sting on the throat accompanied by nuances of creamy chocolate, molasses, honey, brine and a vegetal pepperiness reminiscent of green pepper. The presence of cherry adds a delightful touch, contributing to the overall richness. As the taste tapers into the finish, any anticipation of lingering sweetness I had fades quickly, giving way to a pronounced brininess that enters and lingers on the palate. Barrel spice, minute minerality and oak notes stay present from the start, offering a lack luster conclusion.

Agave comes forward in the aroma along with oak, citrus, and strong detections of alcohol. The taste gives you agave blended well with oak and vanilla and has a medium peppery finish along with the Agave. Not my go to Añejo, but it's a decent sipper for the price. I like it, but like the Blanco more.

More bite and flavor than most affordable anejos. Smooth without tasting watered down or overly processed. The wood notes are prominent, but not at the cost of the agave, which comes through sharp and strong. An excellent sipping tequila at a great price.

Good tasting anejo with some great barrel notes but not too much oak. it could be more agave forward but for the price a good sipper.

low aroma, some sweetness, low caramel, slight cola flavor is also mild with similar notes, no oak, low vanilla, low cinnamon finish starts with a little burst of pepper and slight menthol cooing then lingers with sweet cola

Nice low afterburner. Hints of oak, cinnamon, lite vanilla and it still retained a good portion of its agave flavor. Excellent mixer. I like añejos for sipping this will not be on my frequent sipping list. Excellent product for the price. It makes a great Tequila Old Fashion.

Nice value sipper. Heavier on wood notes like Carmel and vanilla and lighter on the agave but pleasant enough for the price.

My least favorite of the Olmeca Altos line. There’s some agave here, but it’s largely overpowered by oak/whiskey notes and it has a thin mouthfeel. I think the blanco and repo have more character whereas this is similar to other cheap añejos I’ve tasted. That said, whiskey lovers will appreciate this and it’s a good value along with the other Altos expressions.

Nose of vanilla and oak. Vanilla bomb on the palate and finish. The vanilla overpowers the typical citrus and agave notes that I enjoy.

Marshmallow, hints of fruit, vanilla and pleasant barrel spice. Earthy and vegetal. Mild alcohol bite, overall enjoyable neat.
