The bottle has this crazy Christmas fruitcake aroma, it’s not so evident in the glass but very unique. Taste and aftertaste are on the sweet side, there is a confectionary quality that will appeal to a lot of consumers. I place this as a good sipper or an elite well product.

Cimarron blanco nom 1146 this is my favorite tequila for cocktails. it should be the well tequila in every bar. I use it to make infusions, such as pineapple-jalepeño, watermelon, blueberry...

I dont love the nose on this tequila, likely because the alcohol comes through strong, but the flavor profile is great Cinnamon, baking spice and burnt oak flavors Great value. Its not as agave forward as higher end tequilas, so i can see this getting boring, but awesome value additive free

Not much of a sipper but an amazing well made Blanco for your cocktails!

Aroma is muted agave with very scant floral and pine scents. Flavor better than anticipated. May not end up being a sipper but is right on the borderline. Can't beat the value especially for additive free.

Nose- Agave, clay, citrus, faint alcohol Taste- Sweet cooked agave, butter, cinnamon, brine, and some earthy and vegetal notes Mouth feel- medium bodied and perfectly oily Finish- the sweet flavors drop off almost immediately. Some peppery alcohol heat lingers but not long enough. Value- I know my review reads like I didn't like it but I absolutely did. This Blanco was strange and wonderful but it fell just short of epic. That being said it's only $25 for a liter in Michigan making this one of the all time great values in agave. It just dethroned Azteca Azul as my go-to budget brand.

Another solid product from NOM 1146. Great budget mixer that is hard to beat for $16. Not my first choice to sip but wouldn't turn it down either.

I’m not a column still tequila guy, but with no additives, low pressure auto clave and the price can’t be beat. Great flavor profile and it’s NOM 1146. For the win

Cooked agave on the nose. Some baking spice. Some light pear aromas. Nice cooked agave. More baking spice flavor. A little light citrus and pear again. Some green pepper and vegetal. Nice tingle and just enough bite. Finish has a nice cooked agave presence. Not super long but it’s nice with a good tingle. I like this a lot. Not super complex but really great flavors all around. I can sip it neat or put it in a cocktail. And for less than $30 per liter it’s an absolute steal. This is one to keep stocked for any occasion.

This a very standard, run of the mill blanco. The flavor profile is basic and inoffensive, with some sweet cooked agave, spicy white pepper, alongside some earth and vegetal notes. From a budget standpoint this tequila is a very strong contender. I got this 1 L bottle for $23 (an equivalent $17.25 for 750 mL), which is less expensive than other budget brands I typically see like Olmeca Altos or Tres Agaves. Not to mention Cimarron seems to have a richer, more traditional flavor. This can easily compete with bottles you might see in the 40 dollar range.

Nose: Fresh Agave, lemon grass, minerals Taste: Agave, Pepper, Vegetal, Spice, Mint, slight alcohol and an agave sweetness on the tail end. Finish: Its a mouthfull of flavors with a nice long peppery finish. It drinks like a higher proof for a 40 abv tequila. It's an agave forward earthy spicy tequila. I dig it! This flavor profile is perfect for me and that’s why it earned high marks. It’s $22 a liter so that also helped. ¡Salud!

Slight citrus, grassy in the nose. Some white pepper, clean burn on the mouth. Lingering finish. A solid and well made blanco, and from a value perspective - very impressive.

This juice is a surprise! A clean nice nose of cooked agave, on the palate balanced enough to be sipped, let alone mixed. It also has nice viscous mouthfeel. At this price I could never imagine you could find these characteristics. Amazing! This should be the tequila that any bar has on their well!

Toasted, cooked agave, with a subtle green agave note, a slight pepper spice. For the value, this is an exceptional Blanco for starters, for cocktails, and even for sipping neat!

Nose: Hides a lot in that you get Agave with a healthy dose of black pepper. Body:Has a thick but not syrupy body that coats very well and lingers. Taste: The flavor profile is very much like that of a Mexican chocolate, it's layered and enticing. Up front is a rich creamy roasted agave, that forms into a briny olive trailing off to an herbalness, with hints of damiana in an agave sweetness.

Cimarron Blanco - Tasting Notes * NOM: 1146 Nose: * Brine * Brine * Brine * Some funk * Brine again Taste * Brine * Simple Syrup * Mineral Depth Finish * Dark finish * Brown sugar * Red peppercorn Verdict: * Another blanco to shock your friend who are new to sipping blancos. Very olive/brine throughout, but it’s very desirable. A bit syrupy at initial taste, but the brine balances it nicely. Finish is medium with small bright cracks of peppercorn, but it keeps this mineral depth and the simple syrup has now turned in to a dark maple. Value is amazing. Will be one I will always have in my cabinet.

Thought I’d take another look at this brand after having tasted a number of other tequilas now. Aroma: very pleasant; notes of cooked agave. I think I’m detecting a mineral aroma but it’s very subtle. Taste: very peppery taste on the tongue; sweet notes but not excessively so. Slight cooked agave taste. Finish: peppery taste doesn’t linger. Finish is actually quite pleasant. I might drink this again though there are other readily available tequilas that I would prefer. I would recommend to some friends if they were into tequila. Tequila dabblers wouldn’t like this brand. Good value though for the price I paid.

5 Essential Tequilas for a Well-Stocked Bar

Some people, when talking about essential bottles for a well-stocked bar, leave out tequila (unlike, say, bourbon or scotch). Some people think that the only thing tequila is good for is making margaritas. Some people are wrong.

The Best Tequilas for Under $30

Why does good tequila have to be so damn expensive? It doesn’t! Even though there are a variety of tequilas at wide-ranging price points, buying a cheap tequila can feel like a risky proposition for many people.
