Tastes and rated blind: agave, lime, brine, and pepper with a long finish.

Aroma, you kind of have to fight past the initial alcohol to get to agave, ligjt sugar, and mineral scents. It does open a bit more after sitting but flavor is slifht burn, agave, brown sugar, mint, Jalapeño, then a burn with the finish. Great mixer for the price but would probably sip just as much

I’ll be honest, it’s a little hot for me and I love HP. Definitely a quality product. The nose is so bright and clean. Earth, Citrus? Not sure. The palate is bright but once that finish hits you’re in for a ride. Glad to finally have tried this one. Update: this opened up nicely, delicious and the heat calmed down. I’ve bumped a few points.

This one just does it for me. Heavy on the agave on nose and palate, delicious minerality. So damn good. It elevated a margarita to new heights and is also great for sipping if you can handle the 110. This is, for me, a near perfect expression of blanco tequila. Terralta 110 and G4 108 are fantastic, but Tapatio is the GOAT for me.

Notes: full cooked agave since the beginning, orange peel, with green apple & pear notes. Herbal and grassy aromas in the mix. Black pepper, anise and mint along with a buttery sensation that just melts in your mouth. Long adherence. Wow, sharp alcohol smell but so subtle afterwards… just amazing!

Very good high proof. Has a really sweet smell like agave and some vanilla, probably from the wood fermentation tanks. Lots of pepper that stays on the tongue (medium to long finish). An easy highproof sipper. That’s really good.

Nose- Cooked agave, black pepper, grapefruit, lightly floral and grassy. The alcohol is present but not dominating which blows my mind. Flavor- Cooked agave, black pepper, white pepper, a little de-seeded jalapeno, lime, mint, and just a touch of olive brine. Once again the alcohol is obviously there but dangerously easy on me. Finish- pleasant sweet heat that lasts! This liquid is insanely good.

First Tapatio product I’ve had and it’s a winner. Tons of roasted agave and pepper throughout. The alcohol is definitely there but wasn’t as a prominent on the nose or in flavor as I expected from a high proof. Helps add to the flavor without overpowering all the other amazing flavors of this tequila. Very complex flavor with bright agave and pepper, minerality and I get a little molasses, brown sugar, cinnamon flavor as well. Finish is long and absolutely delicious. Every sip I seemed to find more flavor. One of my favorites and a tequila I just keep coming back to.

Huge flavor. Great for sipping. Killer in margaritas. Big green pepper and citrus notes. Great all around and a good value for the proof and 1L size.

Aroma : Vegetal, grassy, citrus, and herbal notes accent light alcohol and raw agave. Taste : Sweet cooked agave and light alcohol. Peppery heat with cloves, pear/peach, and earth. As with other high proofs, the alcohol is not overpowering here, but serves to give more depth to the other notes. Finish : Long and slightly hot with black pepper, cloves, and some potato. Usually I review all of the base level tequilas (Blanco, Reposado, Añejo) in a brand before moving onto the things like extra añejos and high proofs, but like the Excelencia, I had heard so many great things about this bottle, I had to open this up first. And I'm glad I did.

The Camarenas know how to make tequila. This high proof tequila is a treat. The nose is strong and full of fresh agave, green apple and alcohol; in a good way. I taste white pepper and sweet agave. The flavor is intense and the finish is excellent. It’s truly a treat for blanco lovers. ¡Salud!

Legit one of the best tequilas ever made, it’s almost unbelievable that something could have this high of an ABV and still achieve balance and subtlety! Agave for days from start to finish, it has some tropical fruit going on but really this is about agave. Makes a mean cocktail if you’re in the market...

This 110 is just as fun and playful as the 80, but with more complexity. It has the green apple, pear and olives as the 80, but with more herbal, minty punch. I love me some high proof blanco and this does not disappoint. Price is fair considering you are getting a liter instead if 750mls. It’s light and mineraly with wet stone aroma. Sweet agave with black pepper, clove and cherry on the tongue. I love this juice from La Alteña.

A lot going on here. Nose: Vegetal cucumber, citrus, licorice nose. Minerals and a celery/thyme herbal note. Taste of mature agave with a nutty peach note. Coats your tongue with a rich buttery feel. Some peppery heat and a bit of salinity. Finishes with fading pepper heat and a banana, anise, and almond tease. Good balance for all that is going on in this tequila.

Really enjoyed the strong agave presence. The finish is strong with a mineral lingering in the mouth. I'm sure it makes a great margarita that will knock anyone's socks off. Salud!

Fresh cut grass, peanut brittle, cooked agave

Nice agaveness!

Sweet, floral nose, with a vanilla note. Very sweet entry, which turns a little acidic and bitter. The sweetness continues across the tongue all the way to the finish, but at the end the bitter notes become more grassy and green. The alcohol is never overpowering, but a few drops of water really improve the taste experience.

Blind rated. After pouring there is a bit of acetone in the nose, which could indicate some little defect in fermentation, but after resting a while in the glass it opens up and it's good. A lot of beautiful floral agave, with some alcohol and maybe still some trace of acetone as well. Lots of agave and spice on the palate, some pepper. Some bitterness in the medium agave finish. It's a bit unbalanced, but very good nonetheless.

Nice nose, clean, sweet, and very floral. The flavor is full of sweetness the cooked agave comes through. The finish had nice spice and was long lasting.

Smells like Arandas! High proof doesn't bother the taste.

It will get you drunk. I am changing my opinion on this tequila. Now that it has been opened for over a month it has really opened up. Love it
