Yes, buy this! Great repo for a great price. Light on the oak and full on the agave. It is very balanced and has a great finish.
Nose: Vegetal herbal crispness. Soon joined by a sweet cooked agave with mild vanilla. A hint of something that reminds me of pizza but I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe an Italian herb tomato sauce. Palate: Medium body and mouth feel. Very green. Gentle and clean. Cooked agave with the mild vanilla continuing from the nose. Mouth feel steadily increases the more air it gets. Let this tequila breath and it will deliver for you
G4 Reposado is one of my go to daily sippers and cocktail bases. It’s everything you’d want in a top-end tequila, only with a more middle class price tag. It’s smooth, with a great mouth finish. The nose is a little low…smells clean and agave forward, but doesn’t give up much more. But on the palate it’s a pleasure. Subdued fruit/agave flavor gives way to a clean super finish that ends slightly sweet. G4 is a fantastic brand and the Reposda could be my favorite expression.
Lot 11- Delicious =88 Lot 12 - Wow =89
Agave barrel and pepper. Citrus notes with strong black pepper finish. Slightly musky that enhances complexity, probably due to water.
Fresh, earth, minerality, just the right amount of barrel influence.
Single Barrel selected by Sip Tequila, Barrel #8
On the nose, cooked agave, softer than the blanco for sure, and sweeter. A fruity note, maybe peach or nectarine? Very interesting. Minerals and a very faint floral note that is very interesting. Black pepper, and caramel as it opens up. On the palate, It’s vegetal, cooked agave, grassy. Strong mineral presence. Shockingly vegetal for me, that stands out more clearly than in the blanco. A light touch of honey and vanilla. Amazing stuff. Well worth a try, and definitely one of the best reposados I’ve ever had.
Blind rating 2/12/2024. Original score of 87. Aroma: herbal, sage brush, black pepper, dry dirt, lavender, with a hint of orange zest. Flavor: cardamom, oak, smoke, white pepper, herbal, salt brine. Finish: very short with a good warmth I can tell this is a very well made tequila but the flavors are just not what I look for/ desire in a tequila. Otherwise I would have given this a slightly higher rating by 2 or 3 points.
Aroma: Light cooked agave, oak, and fresh-cut jalapeño pepper. Taste: Similar to the aroma, light flavors throughout, more oak flavor than present in the aroma. Finish: Ultra smooth, one of the cleanest finishes of any reposado I’ve tried. I feel like you can almost taste the smooth minerality of the rain water El Pandillo is famed for using. Overall: An amazingly good reposado. Does not have that bold flavor other reposados have, but I don’t think you can find a cleaner, smoother tasting reposado anywhere.
Nose of Elmer's glue (that's a good thing) light lemon and vegetal scents with slight wood. Flavor is an excellent balance of wood and agave, almost too perfect. My favorite Repo yet.
Maple Lake G4 Single Barrel. Heaven's nectar. A real treat
Another winner from G4, neutral to light oak brings out subtle sweet agave, real pleasant finish. Very balanced
Aroma carries agave without any heat. Hints of acetone / esters behind vanilla towards the end of the smell. Mid palate taste shines with a warm agave forward flavor, then let’s you know it’s been aged in wood. Overall a great mouthfeel & experience from a lightly aged Repo.
Love the sweet floral flavor that comes across in this bottle while it maintains a strong agave presence.
This was a white label Mexican version. With the lower abv, definitely was softer on the pallet which I found muted the flavor a tad. Very nice nose and one of the most balanced reposados I’ve had.
In the glass, very light yellow tinted and with nice long tears much like the blanco. In the nose there’s loads of agave, some minerals, rain, oak, vanilla, citrus (grapefruit maybe?) On the palate this picks right up where the blanco left off but somehow accentuates the good parts even further - cooked agave, pepper, butter, citrus, and oak. It’s got a long beautiful finish with notes of vanilla and a sweet burn at the very end. Definitely one of my favorites!
Keep your eyes open at Costco. It is late July and found this for $23! Aroma is special; one of the best aromas ever. Taste and finish are both very good. This one might challenge my favorite Siete Leguas for best reposado.
Starts to migrate away from what I personally love but still a top shelf effort. I get a cinnamon finish on the end of my tongue that just won’t quit.
Agave, pepper, mineral nose. Wood is almost imperceptible. Agave taste with peppery burst of a finish. Light mouthfeel.
I love this expression of G4 from Felipe’s El Pandillo distillery. Everything about this distillery and his process is pure and environmentally conscious. This expression has strong notes of cooked agave, citrus, black pepper, vanilla and oak. It’s exactly what this expression should taste like. Superb.
G4 is an excellent tequila. Their Reposado has a sweet nose with hints of agave, citrus and floral notes. It’s an agave forward tequila that has been rested in a used oak whiskey barrels. The barrels give it a light copper color and some added complexity without distracting you from the agave. This is a Reposado done the right way! ¡Salud!
Nice legs on the glass and very light color for a reposado. Aroma of cooked agave and alcohol with just a hint of oak from the barrel. Straightforward flavor of agave with a smooth, long finish.
Believe the hype

I find the aroma to be reminiscent of a summer rain on freshly laid cement. The delicate scent of caramelized cooked agave adds a touch of sweetness, while subtle notes of cider vinegar and brine contribute to its complexity. Notably absent is any harsh or overpowering ethyl presence, allowing the nuances of black pepper to subtly emerge. Upon savoring, the palate enjoys a harmonious interplay of flavors. Subtle hints of cooked agave and black cherry dance gracefully alongside faint traces of anise and cinnamon, reminiscent of a delicate spice blend. The addition of sarsaparilla and butterscotch lends a subtle sweetness, while a whisper of whiskey and tropical fruit adds depth without overpowering the palate. For me, the influence of the barrel is well received, allowing the tequila to shine through without being overshadowed. As the tasting concludes, the finish leaves a lasting impression of exceptional freshness. A minuscule hint of pepperiness lingers delicately on the palate, accompanied by subtle traces of caramel and soft alcohol. A very enjoyable Repo.
