Cooked agave, oak, butterscotch, pepper, caramel, barrel spice. Basic anejo at a budget friendly price. The best expression in their line.

I like this the best of the 3 expressions of Don Diego. Nose is barrel spice and agave and continues as it's sipped. In the mouth, add vanilla, some agave, caramel, and a bit of a whiskey presence. Finish is medium length. I tried this side x side with Reserva del Señor Añejo and found them to be not similar at all.

I got a lot of dark chocolate on the nose. Tobacco. Dark cherries. Vanilla. Butterscotch. But I also get a little alcohol that sneaks up and reminds you it's still very much Tequila. On the body, more of the same. However, I could use some viscosity. A little thin in the mouth. Heavy tobacco, bitter chocolate. The finish is short for my taste. This one would probably pair well with a Cigar if you're into that sort of thing.

When I first opened this bottle initially, it was not a great experience. Everything seemed harsh at first. A lot of alcohol on the nose and a lot of bite and a hot finish. I shelved it after sipping neat for about a week. Now I’ve been going to this bottle and it’s mellowed out so much more. This tequila is actually pretty damn good! Before rating was low 70s and now after letting it sit a bit it’s definitely around a mid 80!

Pretty tasty. Vanilla, herbal, smoke on the nose. The balance is overpowered by the sweetness in the taste. Butter, whiskey and leather in the mouth. Finishes with oak, almonds and minerals.

Aroma: Very light agave with hints of spice, and sweetness of vanilla and caramel. Also a light oakiness comes through the but muted. Flavor: Vanilla on the tongue with a slight alcohol taste, and spice (white pepper). Not as sweet as the aroma but very smooth. Finish: The finish is very light and nice with sweetness of vanilla and caramel throughout. The peppery spiciness is a medium to long finish but not overpowering the sweetness. This tequila makes me want to have another taste once the finish goes away.

Aroma is lackluster, but once in your mouth, that is where this tequila shines. Thick texture, with strong floral and vanilla flavors.
