This is a really nice anjeo with the agave still front and center.
Dried fruits, oranges, cinnamon and light oak on the nose pave the way for oranges, cooked agave, black pepper, and tropical notes in the mouth. Like the Reposado, my only gripe with this bottle is the value when bought in the US.
Very clean for an Anejo, good acidity/ tropical flavors, balance and light wood notes. Good value coming out of one of the top distilleries in Jalisco
sharpness of oak mixes in with the cooked agave on the nose. mouth feel smooths the sharp oak (maybe fresh pine) and allows cooked agave to show through. licorice, some stone fruit with vanilla, maybe a touch of brine/olive. the entire square bottle line of Cascahuin is an absolute bargain
Sooooo different than the repo, it’s hard to believe this is the same juice! Really hot off the nose, kind of turned me off as I didn’t get much of the roasted agave reward I’m looking for. Soft and easy to drink, mellow aftertaste that doesn’t get warm until it hits your stomach. Brine & grass are up front which is unique, I like this but don’t love it(age hater).
The nose on this is amazing. Citrusy, orange peel and dried fruit and toasted nuts. The palate was very oak forward. Dried cherries and fruit. So many layers to discover with this. Excellent añejo from Cascahuin.
Round ripe fruit starts the aroma. Bold agave with nutmeg and cinnamon follows. Almost perfume like floral presence. A trace of a pungent note. Black pepper heat and agave sweetness with a honey like coating on my tongue. Nice citrus notes including orange peel. But I’m not getting all of the subtle spices and fruit on my palate, as I did on the nose.
Loads of agave, followed by sweet fruit on the nose, cinnamon apple and brown sugar. Notes of pepper, agave and spice, with a warm mouth feel through a pleasant finish.
Oak vanilla
Bold, caramel, pepper, oaky
Earthy, sweet, bark, citrus Small Notes of pepper and oak on the pallet Good mouth feel and not too sweet
LOT: 357 Blind tasting with: Tapatío, Siete Leguas, Tepozán, Cascahuín y Herradura, all añejos. View: golden yellow, a little bronze. Good tear adhesion. Freshly served; Aroma: very light, a little herbal but I can't capture much else, maybe a little minerality. Taste: really not much of anything. A very light herbaceousness and an astringent and mineral aftertaste with black pepper that goes away almost immediately. I let it oxygenate so that it opens for 20 minutes. Aroma: There seems to be less aroma than before, it's already difficult to perceive anything at all. A light touch of vanilla. Very slight herbaceousness. Flavor: Sweetness that dilutes very quickly to give way to an astringency that is not entirely pleasant.
Sweet aromas of cooked agave and butterscotch! Flavors of citrus and vanilla but the taste dissipates too soon. I’m rating the Mexican bottle which is 38% ABV, so maybe taste of the US bottle at 40% lasts longer. A great añejo overall that I recommend buying or trying!
This one has a mineral and agave aroma. Goes down real smooth with some citrus notes and agave. One of our favorite.
Aroma: notes of oak, citrus, pepper and banana Taste: notes of oak, pepper and caramel
Lote 357 030323, 38%, Light oak & agave aroma, gentle mouthfeel with cinnamon/orange flavors & not too sweet, medium warm finish. Will be easy to sip my way thru a few shots this evening
Tried at cascahuin distillery 9/9/23. Very nice and easy to drink. Enjoyed this one alot!
Very nice agave forward tequila. Nice mouthfeel with only a small amount of pepper on the finish. Nose is agave with a touch of vanilla.
LOTE 1004, bottled on 09 03 19. #CASCAHUINEANDO Color: very pale yellow. Aroma: pungent sweet cooked agave!! Slightly acidic, minty, slightly earthy, 30 minutes in the glass a peach sweetness aroma emerges, also, white jasmine flowers and maybe other types of white flower notes that I can’t describe but can be perceived. Resinous sweetness! Palate: intense cooked agave, light vanilla, minty, good sweet & sour balance, Finish is medium to long, the resinous sweet cooked agave with a minty sensation which keeps it fresh lingers. However, finish is not too long due to low abv. I have read several tasting notes mentioning aromas that take them back to when they enter a tequila distillery, this expression did that for me! Precisely the aroma standing between the 3 hornos and the tahona, wow!
It has the love of the touch of a petal. Gentle, soft and precise. A very lovely anejo that is not oak overpowered. It has a fabulous presence of agave with a great mouth feel. Honestly, any place should have this anejo.
More floral Whisky notes Smoky too Not overly dark
Very sweet smell but tastes very dark oak and tastes different to smell for sure. Ok after taste. Not my favourite but nice if you like the darker flavour.
Aroma is caramel and cooked agave Taste is pepper, Carmel and agave Finish is super smooth
Light in colour. Sweet, maple aroma. Sweet finish, but it’s peppery on the palate.

More oak notes than I would have expected, imparting cherry, vanilla, oak.
