Sweetness from aging is a bit too sweet for my liking. Aroma is very pleasant.

Had this on the big rock at a bar, after having a pour of Fortaleza Still Strength. I think the fact that I had it after a high proof blanco made it taste way smoother but I’m typically a Blanco guy, so well made Añejos are much more subtle and easier to drink if you drink mainly blancos, at least for me. With that being said, this was delicious. Aroma was great, very flavorful with a nice hint of agave. You can taste the quality on this artisanal tequila. It’s one that I would probably purchase for my home bar. I’m all about agave forward tequilas, which is why I usually stray away from oak-heavy or sweet Añejos and XA’s, but there’s definitely some agave to this one which I really enjoyed.

Simple and smooth. Oak and caramel with a bit of spice. Nothing to write home about and nothing to object to.

This really surprised me, after being disappointed in the reposado I thought that further barrel treatment would be a bad thing.....clearly I know nothing! Tons of earth & peppery notes balance nicely with the caramel from the oak, reminds me of a sweeter Fortaleza. An excellent tequila, I’m going to share this one with anyone who will listen.

Nose: Fruity, spicy: vanilla, cinnamon, licorice. A cellar note/ minerals. Flavor: Aforementioned spice, warming pepper, and butterscotch. This is revised from my original rating. It is far better than remembered.

Cooked agave, pepper, mineral

Smells like Sprite - airy, lemon, lime, fresh agave. Excellent flavor and finish- minerals, pavement. Slight amount of earthiness, and roasted light agave. Moderately oily finish.

Definitely pour and let this open up for a few minutes. Nose is sweet and oaky with caramel and fruit, a little sweet. On the sip it is smooth, with warm caramel and a great balance with agave and oak. But the finish - that is where it is different. Long finish but not overpowering, just lingering in a great way. Spend some time with this one and I guarantee it will grow on you. Delicious.

Not super hot/bourbony. Guessing it might be a young anejo. Definitely an enjoyable supper. Slightly sweet, light vanilla taste.

Very light anjeo. Oak, vanilla, caramel and agave. Very enjoyable!

Pretty good, very drinkable tequila. It’s a bit light on flavor, but still the aging shines through. I get very pleasant peach notes on nose and palette, but wish there was a bit more agave in there.

Smooth but weak flavors, light finish.

Lots of nutty/cinnamon/whiskey flavors in this one, but green vegetal notes and agave still shine through. A definite step up from the standard añejo but at ~$82 I feel like it’s a little steep… although these prices may be the new norm.

I love this brand and this one is leaving me a little more to be desired… maybe I need to taste again but I get a saw dust quality… Otherwise great agave aroma, caramel, good juice.

Edición número: LJ2015-A, bottled on 24-10-2015. Color: a tad of yellow. Aroma: sweet cooked agave with vanilla, slightly acidic, very light wood notes, almost unnoticeable because of the acidity. Palate: raw agave, light wood notes, light vanilla, good sweet & sour balance, smooth. Finish is medium to long, raw agave and light wood notes persist.
