Bottle from 2008...cork looks a little sad but this a very macho Blanco reflecting the time in which it was produced. Brand still exists though was fallow periodically over the last 15 years. Good stuff and an accurate representation of tequila production from the mid to late 2000s.

Lot 030 4/16: Agave, pear and faint notes of citrus on the nose. Light to medium body, round mouthfeel with low key notes of cooked agave and a small hit of pepper toward the end. Short finish with little heat. Leaves just a little bit to be desired. Lot 17, 6/8/06: heavier nose, agave, wet grass and orange citrus. Much fuller mouth, cooked agave which is immediately followed by big pepper spice in more pronounced way. Finish is long, more heat and complexity. Superior to the newer releases. I would rate this lot higher, perhaps 84

Nose: Mustiness, minerals, a sharp note, citrus and agave. Needs some time to bloom, then more fruit notes arrive and mustiness recedes. Flavor: Musty quality returns with jalapeño heat. A cake batter flavor that finishes a touch bitter. Some odd nuances to this tequila - different.

Vanilla with hints of cinnamon and citrus. Medium body. Heavy vanilla with some cinnamon and citrus. Medium finish with pepper notes coming through. I found some old bottles from 2005 they were excellent, newer bottles don’t seem to be as good. Worth the hunt if you can find them.

On the nose I get alcohol amidst some more pleasant notes like anise, citrus, and grass. There is also something sweet that I can't put my finger on, like a hint of marshmallow or cupcake (depends on the vessel I'm using). Mouth is classic green agave, black pepper, and licorice. With a tingly peppery finish that ends with raw almonds (hmm...if you ever baked almonds at home, there's a sweet cupcakey aroma that fills the house - maybe there's a connection here). Even though I get alcohol on the nose, this has a soft mouthfeel. I heard this one was a gem - not easy to find. I scouted a bottle out while vacationing in Texas. Unfortunately, I think the older bottles are the good ones I read about. Supposedly the quality isn't what it used to be. Either way, a classic tasting tequila outside of that odd sweetness which makes it a bit more unique.
