From a 500ml bottle purchased several years ago in Puerto Vallarta. Aged in used whiskey and cognac barrels this añejo has a very aromatic nose of orange zest and barrel spice of clove, cardamom, with some caramel and faint agave. In the mouth this has a medium viscosity along with some flavors from the cognac and grape but there is a also slight bitterness from the oak. It also finishes slightly bitter and I score it down for that. Just a cut below being a real solid sipper this is a good bargain from a not well known distillery.

Mexican 40% abv. version, no lot codes, marbete is from 2004, beige color plastic twist cap with a fun stopper, tasted on 8-30-24. Color: dark yellow. Aroma: barrel spice, vanilla, wood note, hint of fruitiness, light acidity, wood note gets more noticeable as time goes by. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, warming wood notes, caramel, wood note is quite impregnating. Finish is medium to medium long, wood note, cinnamon, barrel spice, hint of fruitiness with vanilla note persists.
