A tequila with an interesting story...whether it is rumor or not. I definitely talked more about this tequila than I have imbibed it. Made by a man named Nacho...it can't be all bad, right?
From a 500ml bottle purchased several years ago in Puerto Vallarta. Aged in used whiskey and cognac barrels this añejo has a very aromatic nose of orange zest and barrel spice of clove, cardamom, with some caramel and faint agave. In the mouth this has a medium viscosity along with some flavors from the cognac and grape but there is a also slight bitterness from the oak. It also finishes slightly bitter and I score it down for that. Just a cut below being a real solid sipper this is a good bargain from a not well known distillery.
