NOM 1602 | Lots of astringency, a little bit of hay/straw, then an artificial cake like vanilla. The nose is probably the best aspect of this pour, and that’s not saying much; it’s all downhill from there.

Tasted at Tanger Whiskey Fest. NOM 1602 Barrel spice, alcohol, vanilla on the nose. Same on the flavor with a solvent and astringent aftertaste. Pass

NOM 1602 | Light body, might be good for cocktails.

NOM 1590 | Really didn’t make much of an impression, seems like it is trying to be non offensive and wound up being nothing at all.

Mexico version. Understated aroma. The flavor was far too sweet for my taste. There was a bit of a chemical bite to the finish. Made a mistake. This should never have been on my wish list.

NOM 1420 | Bottle from 2011. Big black pepper right on entry. After a couple of minutes in the glass it has a solvent nose, which I would consider a defect. The jewel top closure is the best thing about this bottle at the moment.

It doesn't taste bad, it just doesn't taste at all. Completely unremarkable!

So far the best I've ever had for the money. About $15 in Mexico

NOM 1420 | 080709, P:TQ9:2 2. Marbete is from 2007, 220ml. slim bottle 38% abv. Tasted on 9-29-23. Color: just a tad of yellow. Aroma: very lightly sweet cooked agave, earthy, alcohol sensation is medium, very light vanilla & wood note, not very expressive. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, light green tea note at the end. Finish is medium to medium short, very subtle cooked agave note persists but not for long.

NOM 1602 | Vanilla extract and sugary. Meh…

Not much on the nose, very smooth easy drinking with agave sweetness forward notes, which I like Honey and light butterscotch

Somewhat bland aroma. Mild agave flavor, some sweetness, black pepper. Short finish. Better for mixing in my opinion.

NOM 1590 | Aroma too sweet

Got as a free gift promo at a gift shop in playa del carmen. Tastier than i expected but clearly full of additives.

NOM 1602 | Given as a gift in Mexico. Tried some then broke in suitcase on way home. Whole suitcase smelled like vanilla/ caramel additives. High value since it was free

Well this is a short review. Vanilla with alcohol follow up throughout the experience. There is also a lingering aftertaste which is sweet. Not good. Not real. I liked the blanco more. That observation is faint praise. Probably best to avoid both products.
