NOM 1440. 2003 Arcella import. I don't get the low score on this one. There's a " medium" neck then the older coveted "Long" neck. this long neck añejo is solid AF. I heard these añejos have metal label Espolon juice. Cooked agave, cinnamon, butterscotch, banana Gerber pudding... Damn tasty stuff!

Old long neck bottle, not the current stuff. Nice caramel, roasted yam and agave nose. Upfront this has a lot of alcohol that settles down after a couple of sips and lets the barrel spice come through.

Too much acid. Strong on the back end.

Sweet in the nose and on the pallet. Slight burn on the finish but barely. Probably a good budget

NOM 1440 | Mexican 40% abv. versión, no lot codes, marbete is from 2004, tasted on 3-30-24. Color: yellow to light yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, light resinous sweetness, light fruitiness, hint of green melon, aromatic green vegetal notes, light acidity, after 20 minutes in the glass the agave note becomes sweeter. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and acidic balance, light earthiness, hint of black pepper spiciness. Cucumber. Finish is medium to medium long, light sweet cooked agave, light aromatic green vegetal notes with a hint of earthiness persists. Didn’t even notice wood notes!

NOM 1103 | All around good. Old bottle at Baja Betty’s. Nothing stands out but good from aroma to finish.

NOM 1440 | NOM 1440 Longneck bottle. Sidney Frank import. Found this at a random liquor store in L.A. excellent Añejo, surprised how sweat and fruity it is for an Añejo. Little Vanilla caramel , little pepper, and still taste the Agave. Very yummy. Highly recommend if you can find it.

NOM 1440 | 1440. Caramel and vanilla upfront on smell and taste. Then some alcohol and astringency shows up middle to back end. A bit harsh on the finish.

NOM 1440 | The old long neck bottle from NOM 1440 was such a bargain. I loved the super earthy taste and finish. It was a little “rustic” and “unrefined” and for years this was my favorite.

NOM 1103 | A well balanced anejo that won’t break your bank.

NOM 1103 | It's okay. Not a terribly enjoyable sipper over a long time but certainly good for getting down in a hurry. It's not bad just not one I would choose to drink over some time, slowly enjoying the flavors. Typical notes but a bit heavy on the alcohol and wood.

NOM 1103 | Right off the bat, this expression’s a step up from the other two in at least one dimension; it doesn’t smell like the stuff they use to clean coagulated evil from the gutters in Malebolgia. On the downside, it’s the weakest entry in every other aspect. It’s just not sufficiently interesting to really justify even its modest price point, and still clearly brimming with fake flavor. Oh well - I’ll sell it to the plebs.

NOM 1103 | Bland.... almost wonder if this is a diffuser tequila now... Not much oak for an anejo... not much "anything"... Had hoped for more....disappointed.

Fair nose with cooked agave standing out, a slight bit of initial sweetness and toastiness, almost like marshmallows. A nice crisp bite at the end, not too strong.

NOM 1103 | Clean nose and very smooth on the tongue, doesn't have much of a bite going down. Surprisingly mild with a great finish.

Smoother and more flavorful than their reposado. love the enticing aroma and value. Only the finish holds it back from being excellent.

Good tequila to value. Not the best, but certainly not the worst

Not much to say here but "meh". Aroma is almost non-existent (slightly fruity but with solvent). Somewhat sweet on entry with caramel custard but hot with a burning bitter finish. Too many defects here to be worthy of repurchase :-/

My favorite - smooth and buttery rich. Like a great bourbon with notes of Agave, vanilla, leather and mango.

The nose on this rocks!!! Super smooth. Wonderful tequila!
