On the nose, agave is there but there’s a medicinal quality that is very off putting. Some vanilla, caramel, and then a good bit of ethanol. There’s an earthy note, but the medicinal and ethanol drown it out. On the palate, I am immediately hit with that medicinal, agave flavor. This is incredibly “smooth”, I’ll give them that. Some caramel and vanilla, and a slight metallic tang. This tequila is all about “almost”. The aroma is almost very nice. The flavor hits good notes but it’s drowned out by the medicinal and metallic notes. The finish is okay, almost serviceable. This isn’t good, but it almost is serviceable.

Aroma : Alcohol, agave, and oak. Some medicinal aromas as well. Taste : Very little agave and vanilla and some oak. But there is a ton of alcohol, medicinal/chemical notes here that overpower any good flavors you would look for in a Reposado. Hot and unappealing profile. Finish : Short with a ton of alcohol/artificial notes and barely any agave. The only thing this tequila has going for it is the fact that it isn't a mixto. Even then there doesn't seem to be any point in buying this if there are so many better tequilas at this price range.

Starts with a moss and chemical aromas. Flavor is flat and unfinished.

Earthy, mossy, medicinal. A sweet hit, no agave present on the body. Little to no mouth feels without any linger or complexity.

The barrel helps temper the chemical taste a bit but this could use some work.

I was going to go into the nuisances of the flavor and aroma profiles, but the *aroma* turned me off. The flavor is much better than its sibling, but tastes *too* sweet. If I were to buy this again, I would use it for mixed drinks.

Subtle notes of oak on the nose, but more vanilla and alcohol than anything. A little butterscotch on the palate that gives way to a heavy dose of pepper and alcohol that clings on through the finish. I’m not getting much agave at all. Not particularly great, but not the worst I’ve had either.

Better on the nose- vanilla, little oak, dull agave Palate- very thin, watery. Can Taste vanilla- and a little agave- Finish- any agave flavor is short lived, bit harsh in the finish. Definitely a mixer, not for sipping. Included my room stay at a resort . other wise I wouldn’t buy.

Mexican 38% abv. version, bottle and yellow plastic twist cap is just like the NOM1128 bottle, it has a fun stopper. Marbete is from 2008, lote: L0934811093 MCA 9L1-N, tasted on 12-29-23. Color: light yellow. Aroma: cooked agave with a tad of sweetness, earthy, hint of dust, light vanilla, light minerality, light citrus, 20 minutes in the glass the agave becomes sweeter. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and citrus balance. Medium thick mouthfeel, but flavors are slightly subtle. Creamy sensation through my retronasal. Finish is medium, cooked agave with light vanilla, earthy and citrus notes persist.

I don't understand all the great scores on this Tequila? It's only good because of all the additives Cazadores Tequila uses. I bought it from Costco and I liked it but I'll never buy it again after finding out their processing methods.

Nose: agave notes with hints of caramel, smoke. palate: medicinal with hints of agave along with notes of caramel and vanilla finish: Terrible medicinal bitter after taste. definitely manipulated for mass quantity. NOT a sipper. In this price range suggest tres agaves

Cazadores Reposado $30 USD (Virginia ABC). Overall: An approachable reposado for those who enjoy sweeter tequilas. As a serious tequila drinker, i wouldn't reach for this bottle as it appears manipulated with additves. It find it drinks far better than others would suggest. Aroma: Sweet. Very little agave. Loads of artifical vanilla, butter-caramel, and black pepper. Hints of oak, cinnamon, and an earthiness. Taste: Soft with a nice butteriness. Sweet with a slight artificial bitterness followed with a nice peppery zing. The butter-caramel, vanilla, oak, baking spices combined quite well. The off-putting artificial notes are subtle, but they are easily detected. Finish: A moderate warmth. The sweet notes take a turn towards slightly bitter.

Artificial vanillin aroma and taste dominate and overpower much else. So yes it tastes good. But yes, it’s an additive because my body reacted like it does to additives- heavy & sluggish. So I would recommend but mainly as a cheap mixer, if additives don’t affect you. Update: the more I drink this, the less I like it. The vanilla is cloying. Changed my rating from a 70 to a 57. I can’t recommend this anymore. This is a frat party tequila. Update 2: Changed it again to a 44. It’s the first bottle I’ve poured out before finishing in 25 years.
