Blind rated. Agave, pepper and alcohol on the nose. A bit too much of the last to put this among my favorites, although it's not bad. On the palate a good presence of agave, for me though there's a certain lack of complexity. Some alcohol spice, which it might be fun, but at the same time it disturbs its balance a little. Finish it's medium to long, with a nice agave presence. Hard to really judge this one at the end of an astonishing blind kit as this is, which has been the best to date for me. I would probably love this juice by itself, but in the context of the kit I find it a little inferior compared to others.

From a blind tasting. Some baked agave on the nose. In the mouth agave and some white pepper along with some slight bitterness though not nearly as much as sample 2, which turns out to be Sauza Tres Generacion. Moderate length finish that resolves to some sweet agave that clings to the tongue for a time.

Rated blind. Aroma is sharp and pungent with vegetal and mineral qualities. Quick sweetness on the palate giving way quickly to overpowering mineral flavors and big pepper feeling. Both dissipate quickly, leaving tingling gums and a slight mineral taste. So the finish is more of a numbing feeling than a pepper experience. To be honest, I find myself wincing as I drink this. There is a world of better options out there at this price and below. This rating may seem very low for Partida, but I didn't bother to give it any points for buying again or recommending.

NOM 1502 Rich aroma of agave and earth. Flavor matches the aroma - agave and earth. Finish is short and uneventful.

Very versatile blanco. Amazing for sipping with a rich, smooth agave flavor and superb for mixing. Makes an excellent margarita! Well balanced with excellent mineralality and a touch of sweetness. Partida Blanco is hands down one of my favorite tequilas.

Overall a decent tequila. The minerality and earthiness gives me a definite olive note and while the nose and taste are good, the finish is a bit weak for my taste. A good savory entry into the field of blanco.

Blanco Tequila: The Great Divide

While the panel’s favorites were complex, elemental and intriguing, we were troubled by a lack of intensity in many of the bottles as well as by a sense of artificiality in some. As Florence put it, we found a great divide between those tequilas we liked

Review #255 - Partida Tequila Blanco

I've always learned not to judge a tequila brand just from one expression. I haven't fallen in love with the Partida Anejo the times that I've had it because it lacks character that makes it unique.
