The primary notes on the aroma are of a sweet orange zest with a damp and earthy minerality. The aromas carry through into the flavor, with tones of sweet orange, some herbal notes, light agave, as well as a Stevia-like sweetness. On the finish, a bittersweet combination of alcohol, earthy agave, and a lingering taste of Stevia sweetness.

For the price point, a solid blanco for sipping or mixing

Medicinal + colas taste Aroma seems fake (cherry and fruity), minimal to no agave detected. Reminds me of a cherry cough syrup from sip to finish.

Nice easy sipper. Very nice on the nose. Of agave (sweet cinnamon) , citrus, a little floral maybe a little caramel Taste is right with it agave up front black pepper on the back end. Not off putting but nice citrusy middle with a watered down lilly peddle in it. Oh and little vegetalness with a slight bit of anise cant forget that. very nice.

Aroma : Herbal aroma with notes of agave, citrus, pineapple, and lemon. Taste : Cooked agave with citrus, lemon, pineapple, and light pepper similar to the aroma. This one has a drier mouthfeel that manifests these herbal qualities a little differently than you may be used to. Finish : Medium length with more black pepper spice and citrus. This the first tequila I've tried that I would call "dry". Combined with the herbal notes, I would assume if you like gin, you'll LOVE this blanco.

Head to toe delicious, great mouthfeel! Classic agave goes with toasted oats and lemon rind, definitely unique. Buy one to drink and one to save.

Just as described on the box, white citrus pineapple with white chocolate on the nose. Incredibly smooth creamy agave on the palate. Long citrus finish. Second visit confirms long does get better after you open them. I do notice and aroma of bread yeast.

Blind rated. On the nose there is a distinct presence of raw agave, pepper, a little mint, quite a lot of alcohol. On the palate it has a medium mouthfeel and a little alcohol burn and spice . Not really complex, but somewhat pleasant. A short alcoholic finish with very little agave. Not a remarkable blanco for me, but not bad either.

The aroma is sharp and strong. Definite medicinal note but also vegetal and raw agave. There is also a slight hint of banana. The flavor is pretty soft and not as spicy as I was expecting based on the aroma. I get a bunch of raw agave but also very strong notes of mint. The finish is very smooth. Not overpowering at all.

Rated blind in Riedel Overture Glass: Crystal clear. Medium-sized bubbles hang at the edge of the glass on the pour. Coats the glass. Tears form immediately creating wide legs that tighten into well-defined tracks, leaving behind a constellation of small pearls at the top of the glass. Aroma: Moderately sharp herbal agave presents first. Lemon tea with hints of lime and crisp green apple present later, followed by subtle mint notes. A light white pepper can found throughout. This is a fresh, bright aroma with no discernable defects. Entry: Moderately thin body and fairly dry. Flavor: Light to moderate green vegetal and herbal agave flavors predominate with a dry tannic (but not woody) quality, and light pepper throughout. (Autoclave?) This doesn’t present as a defect, but defines the profile—dry and elegant, not overly complex. I could imagine this as a nice replacement for gin in a martini, or an elegant sipper on its own. Refined, conservative. Finish: The finish is dry and herbal, with light pepper of shorter-to-moderate length. Conclusion: This is not what I think of as my go-to profile, so my final score surprises me, but this is quite excellent nonetheless. I would look to add this to my library.

Aroma- agave, sweet (maybe artificial), light Taste- cooked agave, vanilla Finish- burn then a sweetness that leaves an after taste that reminds me of an additive aftertaste. Overall impression- good for mixing, not a sipper

Herbal, agave and citrus in nose, light sweet agave and spices in the palate, medium to light body, has some medicinal notes that I am not a fan of, short finish. Not a remarkable blanco.

Review #202 - Don Pilar Tequila Blanco

Don Pilar is quickly becoming one of my favorite lines of tequila. It may not be well known or a large company, but the thought and craftsmanship in which they put into their tequilas is evident.
