Aroma/Taste: Aromas of cooked agave with a strong mineral presence, reminiscent of wet cement, accompanied by citrus notes of lime and grapefruit, and hints of pear. The flavor profile features cooked agave, black pepper, lime, with subtle undertones of stonefruit, mint, and anise. Finish: The finish is characterized by a pleasant and lingering black pepper heat at the back of the throat, offering a satisfying warmth that extends throughout the palate. Overall: Tasted blind, this tequila showcases a well-balanced profile, combining robust flavors with a harmonious balance. An enticing choice for further exploration and enjoyment.

nicely balanced - Aromas of banana, grapefruit, just whiff of strawberry, but also hint of floral tropical fruit carries over from Aroma, cooked agave is present in Flavor finish very good but would have liked more (more lingering), both slight pepper but with hint of honey

Fresh crack that opened up over 15 min. Nose: Bright citrus off the bat. Followed by earth, mineral, and vegetal. Under the covers is grapefruit, flowers, mild natural vanilla, and maybe some rosemary. Some rye whiskey elements. Palate: Medium mouth feel. Silky smooth and a nice viscosity. Vanilla, oak, citrus, baking spices, and sweet herbal undertones. Buttery smooth. Long sweet natural vanilla finish. Big fan of this pour and the full Tapatio lineup. Definitely worth a try and a great value. Make sure to let this one open up. It truly blossoms with some air

Tapatio Blanco is a good budget buy for many. It is easy to see why. This is a very approachable tequila that hits all the right notes. The nose is full of cooked agave and black pepper. I get a touch of orange citrus. I also feel a little alcohol on the nose. Going in for a taste, you will notice agave first along with a decent amount of black pepper. Minerals and earth make this a tequila that one would expect. This is an okay sipper but makes a great cocktail.

Original tasting: Agave, citrus, and pepper… this is a great value for a quality tequila. 87 New blind tasting: Anise and grass on the nose. A creamy mouthfeel with flavors of agave, anise, and pepper, followed up with a nice medium tingle. 89

Blind: Petrichor on the nose and punches you in the mouth This might be the earthiest of the bunch. Deeper muted flavors of soil. This fits my preference, but is a little bit muted

Great old-time tequila- peppery, nice agave punch, citrus, earthy, herbal, vegetal. For the price of around $30 to $35... you can't beat it

Tasted at La Alteña distillery Easter 2022. Side by side with tequila ocho and El Tesoro. Fun tasting some really good Blancos. Tapatío was good in all ways. Aroma was strong with cooked agave, pepper and light citrus. Taste was super agave with some ground pepper. Finish is warm and let’s you know that Tapatío tequila is strong. Fun old school bottle gets an extra point.

What a tequila should smell like! A very herbal and vegetal profile, with some earthy and grassy notes. Friendly alcohol attack, then you get orange peel, green fruits flavors covered by a light mint layer that lets you savor it. Was expecting more as Tapatio 110 is my favorite blanco, this was just missing the wow factor I was anticipating. Nevertheless a good blanco to have in your home bar. Will need to revisit and re analyze.

Updated my ranking from 88 to 94 after TMM additive free blanco blind tasting kit. Aroma: heavy minerality, light smokiness, herbal, hint of citrus acidity, some agave sweetness, cut grass, and earth. Flavor: minerality, citrus, cooked agave, honey, cinnamon, cream, some earth, wet cement. Velvety texture Finish lingers for a while and is super easy to drink

Really nice, classic tequila. Lots of cooked agave, pepper, vegetal on the nose. A hint of alcohol but in a good way. Flavor is full of agave, as you’d expect from Carlos Camarena. Nice vegetal, grassy flavor, anise, minerality and some cinnamon. A little more alcohol but it adds to the flavor without overpowering it. Finish is a little mild but really, really long. This one sticks with you and it’s amazing. Absolute classic, artisanal tequila that is a delight to drink.

Nose- Cooked agave, loads of black pepper, melon, a little pineapple, some citrus fruit, and a touch of grassy vegetal notes. Flavor- The nose carries over but adds minerality, dry earth, and mint. Faint alcohol but not off-putting. Finish- long and pleasant. I'm in love.

Aroma : Cooked agave, pear, minerality, and black pepper. Some citrus. Taste : Cooked agave and black pepper. There is also some unique mineral/earth notes going on here. There is some spiciness from the black pepper and light anise. This is medium bodied and oily in mouthfeel. Finish : Medium/long in length with stronger spiciness and some mineral/earth here as well.

LOTE: TB-050 39/01/2020 40% 1 ltr Initial nasal impact has a nice prickle with sweet and sour notes. Aroma of cooked agave, jasmine, lime, grapefruit, cinnamon, honeysuckle and pepper. Oily mouthfeel with generous heat. Pepper, cinnamon, grapefruit, lime zest dominate the flavor. Fennel / anise hit on the back end. Some grass on the retro nasal. The pepper and anise hold on the long finish of this great blanco. Everything you could ask for in a classic blanco. Added bonus: about $35 - 40 for a 1 ltr bottle and a screw cap for easy travel. Another awesome tequila from Carlos Camarena

Love this blanco. Tasted right from the source (and from the still) at La Altena. You can taste the iron in the water. Interesting use of both tahona and roller mill mosto for this brand. The brix of these agaves are at around 30+. Smell and taste cut pears. Earthy, citrus, this is a traditional highlands blanco. Very unique.
