I typically love Siembra Azul. This one is good but not up to par with many of the others I have had from this brand Nose does have cooked agave along with oak and vanilla. The whiskey influence from the barrel is there along with caramel and cinnamon. I also get a hint of chocolate. On the palate, the initial note is nice and sweet. I get more oak than on the nose and vanilla I get whiskey and barrel spices. This one doesn’t finish well to me. I get a lot of alcohol for a 40 proof. Fortunately, it stays dormant until you have swallowed. I tasted some really good Anejos today and thought this might match them. Yes, I’d drink it again but I won’t pick it over several others in this category
Nose: vanilla/ caramel/ sweet agave cooked / butter / banana / hint of citrus / lime / spearmint/ tea / orange blossom/ nutmeg/ chocolate/ Taste: sweet agave cooked / vanilla/ caramel/ pepper / banana/ lime / orange peel / spearmint/ bell pepper/ nutmeg/ jalapeno/ chocolate / molasses Finish: very low viscosity mouthfeel/ lingering pepper notes prevail after a rapid dissipation of sweet agave / vanilla/ and peppermint. Spicy till the last swallow. This anejo has many of the signature azul highland pepper notes. The sweetness is quite enjoyable but it steps aside quickly in the light of the predominant pepper notes. There is a touch of mintiness, but the heavy spice notes are in charge here until the last swallow.
Nose of cooked agave and citrus. Grapefruit is the prominent citrus. This is earthy yet still vibrant. I get a touch of mint on the nose. The taste is very nice. First is agave and then I get anise. Plenty of citrus on the palate along with other fruits. It is earthy and tastes of minerals. The finish is clean and lingers for only a short time. Viscosity is medium and feels nice in the mouth. I have dropped this a point on value because many other 70 Blancos I like more. Overall, I like this one and would recommend it.
Nose: vanilla and sweet agave cooked with a harmoniously blended aroma / caramel/ butter / hint of melon / pear / pineapple/ grapefruit/ lime / lemongrass/ anise/ flowers/ baking spices / chocolate/ molasses / hazelnut / cream soda Taste: the most harmonious and perfectly unified flavors I’ve ever had / sweet agave cooked / cinnamon/ pepper / vanilla/ butter/ caramel/ banana/ cherry/ pineapple/ melon / hints of lime snd grapefruit / licorice/ spearmint/ tea / baking spice / nutmeg/ chocolate/molasses/ cream soda Finish: a very slight viscous mouthfeel/ unified taste and flavor balance at the top of the game/ cool water effect/ beautiful harmonious taste snd finish…makes the whole experience fantastic. There’s some very bold flavors at 40% abv, but everything feels and tastes great without alcohol greatly affecting any of the flavors or aromas. There’s a lingering sweet agave and vanilla unified flavor….soo good!! This joven is simply special. This expression called Lidia, is named after David Suro’s mother…and there’s an image of her face on the label. Would you dare put out a product that had your mother’s face on it and not make sure it was perfect? I can say he had no worries about his mom being the name and face of that expression….he knew he had nothing to stress about. It’s that good. This tequila is absolutely delicious on a different scale.
On the nose I smell cooked agave, oak, caramel and vanilla. Notes of banana, citrus and black pepper. On the tongue, it is very oak forward and overpowers the agave. Alcohol is on the taste along with black pepper. other barrel notes such as caramel and vanilla. A touch of butter. This is a moderately good repo but based on the price it isn’t one that I will grab that often.
Nose: beautiful vanilla/ / caramel/ sweet agave cooked / banana/ chocolate/ baking spices / nutmeg / cream soda Taste: sweet agave cooked / vanilla/ caramel/ banana/ chocolate/ nutmeg/ licorice/ baking spices / honey / spearmint/ Finish: very light viscous mouthfeel/ lingering sweet agave/ spearmint/ licorice/ Beautiful balance and harmony This 15th Anniversary reposado is so unified and flavor balanced. This is another delicious expression from Siembra Azul
Gorgeous nose. Cooked agave, nice barrel notes of cinnamon, oak, vanilla. Cooked agave, vanilla caramel, light oak influence. Fruity, stone fruit, a touch of anise on the finish along with cinnamon. Great mouthfeel. Great finish.

What tequila producers choose to do now, in other words, will determine the spirit’s future. And we, the tequila-purchasing public, have to take our role more seriously to ensure its survival.
The truth behind “the coming tequila shortage”, and the real risks the industry faces.
Additives in tequila? I bet you’ve never thought about it. But whether you are for or against additives it’s useful to know how they are used, the rules that govern them, and how to sleuth them out.
The process was simple, natural, and efficient enough — at least until Americans decided they liked tequila, too.
Making tequila is a time and labor-consuming process, when done right. But big corporations are taking shortcuts and pricing the artisan products out of the bar...and out of business.
The struggle these days isn't in finding a superb, distinctive, and refined tequila – one that instantly erases any hangover memories of rotgut shots – but deciding among myriad great options.
wish we had more of this. finished it off awhile ago. I don't have my tasting notes, but I know how much I loved it when I drank it 8-9 yrs ago.
