Mexican 35% abv. version, lote: TBAO 0303, marbete is from year 2002, tasted on 10-26-24. Color: dark yellow. Aroma: hint of cooked agave, light citrus, hint of acidity, light vanilla, hint of wood note, hint of grain distillate, light orange, after 20 minutes in the glass a light unnatural agave fiber aroma emerges. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, unnatural agave fiber is quite aromatic and dominating. Finish is medium to almost medium long, light orange, hint of wood note, hint of vanilla with light unnatural agave fiber aromas persist.
In my glass: Buen Amigo Reposado 100% Nose is heavy with Serrano chili pepper overpowering anything else. Palate is smoky with slow black pepper & mint lingering on the tongue. No agave hint as far as I can tell. So, not to my taste. Will let it breathe for a while. Not very good imo. Glad it was gifted from a non-tequila friend. Probably use this in an impromptu marinade…
