Smells great, tastes falls way short, too bad because the repo was in the right track.
I quite like this, still a bit medicinal like the Blanco but it has a really lovely mint backbone that sticks around at the back of your mouth.
Juts another middle of the pack blanco, it’s got some medicinal qualities I don’t particularly care for in a beverage. Meh.
There's some sweet barrel notes, but it's under a lot of alcohol heat. On the palate, the barrel flavors and alcohol heat are about equal. It's got heat going down as well. Its most redeeming quality is its price, but I probably wouldn't buy it again. For a set of value expressions, I would recommend the Don Cosme line for the same price, but a little more refined all around.
I believe this is only 4 months in American white oak barrels. This is pretty hot on the nose, backed with black pepper and agave. Barrel flavors are minor and not complex. Mineral, citrus and celery notes are more pronounced. It's a little more rough than the blanco. It's got a little burn going down. Not much pepper on the finish, mostly heat.
Medium agave nose with faint floral notes. Mild-moderate agave flavor with a little alcohol heat. Light celery and citrus hints that grow into the finish. Medium pepper finish of medium length. This is pleasant, but not spectacular. It's a solid entry, but a pretty good value. A good mixer and a decent sipper.
