Fair to midland Blanco, slight heat. Flavors were fair, cooked agave and light citrus
Older release from the knotted string around the bottle neck era of NOM 1472, this lists the master distiller on the neck label Arturo Fuentes. Tastes vibrant for as old as it is though not sure how old that is. Marked as 00137/606A which means ????. In any case a nice natural agave sweetness, simple pleasant mouthfeel and a nice clean finish. Still in production today but at release the NOM this is from was one of the bigges Maquila Tequila houses, a position that 1438 has taken over with near 150 brands available.
El Diamante del Cielo Anejo I smell aged oak, agave, cinnamon and orange chocolate with a hint of sweetness. I taste cooked agave, dark oakey orange liqueur, organic local unfiltered honey and a hint of dry whiskey. The finish is a mellow sweet agave, honey and then it turns to a medium peppery finish. This is a good affordable sipper for whiskey and Anejo lovers. Salud!
El Diamante del Cielo Reposado On the nose I detect some light sweet agave and then some orange zest and virgin white oak. I taste agave and honey up front and then some orange bitters on the mid pallet and on the back end i get the oak. The finish is sweet and then turns to pepper. I’m no bartender but I think this repo would do well in a cocktail. I’d like more of a nose but the flavors are good.
El Diamante del Cielo Silver I smell a sweet agave, melons with some light citrus. I then taste sweet alcohol and pepper. The finish is medium white pepper. This tequila can be sipped on and it would taste great on ice with some lime or in a cocktail.
