NOM 1529. Neat $7 at a Mexican bar in Alberta Canada. Striking bottle sold locally for $23 a 750ml. Aroma is crisp with agave, citrus and spices. Mint, pine, vegetal with agave flavor. Short finish with agave, vegetal and pepper. Surprisingly blanco. From my review notes of 2014.
Nice even baked agave nose. Flavor has a nice ripe and juicy agave taste. Similar to what you taste when biting into fresh but cold agave. The finish really continues is mild sweetness thing with a bit of heat at the back of the throat. This was delicious. Prefer to sip.
The aging mutes the alcohol from the blanco a bit. Nice sweet on entry reposado with a little spicy finish and some slight numbing.
A very wild ride as the Tequila Whisperer tackles D Los Altos tequila in this hour-long video review.
