Plenty of gravel and minerality on the nose. Less sweetness or agave than anticipated. But a fair bit of lemon lime. Really harmonious flavor. Starts a little charred and astringent but mid palate and beyond is lovely. And finish is medium-long and very pleasing. This is a high proof that’s very approachable. A great middle ground between 40% ABV and still strength expressions.
I appreciate this because the wine barrels don’t overpower the base blanco. All of the qualities of a good blanco are still here, yet there’s a touch of barrel to accompany it. This drinks like a very well made product that was made with subtlety and respect for the underlying blanco.
Nose and palate are fruity with notes of cherry. It okay but not really my cup of tequila.
This is a butterscotch bomb on the nose. Sweet agave and butterscotch. A little earthiness and mineralality. On the palate this is an easy supper with agave and a touch of pepper. It is pretty flat and watery. This isn’t a bad tequila but there is nothing special about it. I will say this is very easy to drink so it may be a good starter tequila.
