Found a few of these a little while ago and just opening. Nice nose of roast agave and some oak. In the mouth this has a bit of viscosity but tastes natural. The same can't be said about some other recent 1173 releases. A bit of bitterness is carried off well by the finish of this.
This is a light agave tequila on the nose and palate. $10/neat. Seems dry on the finish.
Neat at $13/shot
Lots of flavors and agave , $13/neat . If you are a bottle collector perhaps this is one for you. Aroma is full of agave, citrus, spices and oak. Flavor /Palate: cooked agave, citrus, and vanilla. Finish is very spicy with citrus and cooked agave, vanilla and oak with a long linger spice.
Lots of agave and vanilla flavor, long alcohol and agave finish, $10/neat
The flavor is very nice and complex. I get notes of raw agave, vanilla, oak, and clay. It's sharp and slightly medicinal but not overpowering. The flavor meshes up pretty well with the aroma except I get a lot of pepper upfront. It transitions to a little agave and oak and finishes with a vanilla note. It hangs around in your mouth for quite a while allowing you to get all those different flavors in one sip. Definitely a nice and unique Reposado.
