Complex nose: Deep butterscotch and toffee notes start the waves of aromas. Baking spices, chiefly nutmeg and cinnamon red hots, vanilla and ripe dark fruit follow. There are undercurrents of lactic and earth. Flavors: Very Oily with potent baking spice and black pepper. Rich butterscotch, vanilla and anise keep the pepper in check - but just barely. This tequila has a richness to it.
Nose: Vibrant agave and fruit up front. Cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, toasted nuts and mellow oak. Wet rocks and a hint of bread dough. A slight apple cider undercurrent. Flavor: Vanilla, honey, caramel and white pepper. Agave and barrel spice in harmony. An exciting profile. Finish is lengthy and well balanced.
38% Mexican release with a marbete stamp from 2006. Nose is quite robust with a lot going on. First whiff brought floral notes. Next impression was that of abundant crisp agave, green apple, and a hint of cinnamon and pepper. There are minerals and the aroma of fresh rain in a forest. Flavor: Buttery sensation in the mouth. Tons of caramelizada agave with pepper punch. Rich.
