Another winner from 1414. This is a value tequila that punches above its weight class. In the nose I get agave and vegetal notes. There is a minerality that shines through from the deep well water. I get a little brine and pepper. Maybe a touch of smoke, something Sergio Cruz is known to do. On the palate, a nice cooked agave sweetness minerality shines through along with anise. A touch fruity and also butter. Maybe a hint of pineapple. The finish is very good with the mouthfeel maybe a little thin but the lingering agave is a very nice touch. I do recommend this one for sure This is a very easy drinker and one I would recommend to those getting in to the artisan tequila scene.
Nose: agave sweet / vanilla / butter / hint of pear / green apple / grapefruit/ anise / floral Taste: agave sweet cooked / vanilla Bomb / hint of cinnamon/ banana / pear / anise / hint of citrus / licorice / spearmint / cream soda Finish: super light watery minty finish / cool clean water mouthfeel/ lingering sweet agave and vanilla This blanco is very sweet and delicious. With a hint of cinnamon and a vanilla bomb that lingers, this is a fantastic sipper….almost too good to be used as a mixer, but would work well with cocktails that aren’t too sweet because this agave and vanilla powerhouse will steal the show if your pairings are off.
I tasted this as part of the Fuerte Fanatic Fuerte Friday series. I need to re-taste to gather better tasting notes. I really liked it and it is a great value. More to come.
N- agave, herbs, olives, orange, grass, and a little vegetal T- Cooked agave, black pepper, olive brine, oregano, mint, malo funk, citrus fruits MF- thin F- surprisingly low heat. Medium in length and a little spearmint lingers V- I had to have it shipped but it was still worth it. Another banger from Sergio
