Nose: Big fruit, agave and caramel beginning. There are some yeasty, lactic notes, and a hint of caraway. Palate: Viscous. Cherry, butterscotch, and piquant pepper. Agave still front and center with baking spices. A hint of ginger. Finishes in a long peppery fashion. Of special note: This is an additive free line of tequilas.

Nose: Minerals and earth with pineapple, anise and agave. Flavor: Substantial pepper and spice, with sweet ripe agave and a touch of almond. Nice oily mouth feel. A vegetal note, and minerals persist on the palate. A slight perfume taste. Finishes with pepper, agave and a hint of bitters.

Tasted from Romeo Hristov’s jarrito specially designed for tequila. Nose: Vanilla, ripe jammy fruit, cookie spices, citrus and citrus rind. Flavors: Intense barrel spices, pepper, toasted nuts and agave. Nice round mouth feel. Finish: Long caramel, pepper and citrus finish. Romeo’s glass is fantastic! It focuses nose and flavors in high definition. There is complete congruency between what you smell and what is delivered to your palate. I alternated nosing and tasting between my old favorite Glencairn nosing glass, and Hristov’s jarrito. Highly recommend his glassware!

Pale straw color. It really follows from the silver, with some hints from the barrel. No big changes, no big barrel flavors, but still has the big spicy finish from the blanco.

Mild sweet agave nose, and flavor to match, but big spicy finish! No detracting notes to speak of, but not a lot of character on the nose or palate. Goes down easy and leaves you happy. This could be a good way to introduce some uninitiated.
