While the Repo is drinkable the nose is full of perfume, barrel notes, and medicinal. The flavor is nice barrel spices, cinnamon, honey, and some vanilla. The finish is short with some spice
The nose is very good with cooked agave, ripe sweet banana, vegetal and fresh cooked peas. The flavor is bitter and taste of dried cooked peas, and very medicinal, un pleasant. Finish is short, with some spice.
I like the blanco more. The aging and perhaps the particular Cutwater Bourbon barrel used to age adds some bitterness that I don't care for in general in a reposado much less here. Taste is clean though and counts for something. I get bitter oak, barrel char, some agave and a very light mouth feel with not a lot of viscosity. Finish is a bit short and tingly and is tip of the tongue for ethanol and the bitter oak.
Sweet and spicy with a Smokey aftertaste. Smooth neat.
