Nose: Initial caramel aromas, followed up with chocolate and malted milk, a yeasty note and fresh thyme and oregano. Flavor: Strong chocolate notes persist, with vanilla, roasted hazelnuts and medium pepper heat. Nice viscosity. Finish: A touch on the sweet side but a pleasing offering.
Nose: Tropical floral nose with berry/cherry fruitiness. Soft wood notes and agave. Flavor: Vanilla, white pepper, cloves and allspice. Finish: Lengthy butterscotch, vanilla, pepper finish with a hint of bitterness.
Nose: Ripe red fruit, agave notes and hints of citrus, earth and minerals. Flavor: Sweetness and white pepper predominate. Some caramel and vanilla with some bitter undercurrents.
This anejo has a beautiful, soft butterscotch flavour with a deep golden straw colour. The finish is a medium, and very pleasant. Very soft on the nose. Note that this review comes 6 months after opening the bottle, which I’m sure has softened the tasting notes considerably.
