Old NOM 1499. This is a definite sleeper. Such a great sipping anejo with a great nose with so many aromas. Nose: cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, oak, cinnamon, baking spices, vegetal, some jalapeño even. Palate: cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, oak, cinnamon, buttery, and minerals. A bargain anejo that is a very enjoyable sipper and a complete sleeper.
Nose: Medium body oak and vanilla. Some cooked agave. Cherry, dried cherry, red fruit, and plum. Mild black tea and herbs hiding beneath. Palate: Medium body and mouth feel. Good viscosity. Cooked agave with general depth. Oak, vanilla, with leather and mild honey. Fruit on the mid palate. Cherry with red apple. This is a generally nice pour. Additive free is a big plus but the price tag is higher than I’d like.
Nose: Caramel, honey, hazelnut, and leather. Some fruity elements underneath the general barrel notes. Some but not a lot of agave. Palate: Mouth feel starts off on the medium side and quickly fades to relatively thin. Mild cooked agave, charred oak, spice, vegetal, and general alcohol. More burn than I’d expect from an 80 proofer. This is an okay option for those looking to explore budget additive free tequila. However, I wouldn’t start with this one.
Nose: Overall, a gentle somewhat subtle nose. Buttery caramel with surprising vanilla and olive undertone. Fruit start to emerge with grapes and plum. Lime and spearmint in the mix as well. Palate: Light to medium body which gets fully as it opens up. Caramel, vanilla, and oak off the bat. Apple, cherry, plum and grapes follow. Spearmint and lime on the backend. Warm spicy finish. Overall, I decent additive free blanco. Short finish without a lot of depth.
Nose: vanilla / hint of caramel / sweetener / bit of pear / apple / hint of lime and grapefruit/ orange blossom Flavor: vanilla / caramel/ / earthy / pear / cherry / hint of mint / honey lingering finish / too sweet to taste like agave Finish: quick and clean non-lingering finish / sweetener/ vanilla This is a drinkable tequila that has some artificial sweetness that is too strong. Some of the other flavors seem a little too artificial somehow.
