Wood heavy, notes of cedar and...sawdust, but not in a bad way.
Mexican 38% abv. versión, marbete is from 2016 but doesn’t have info, tasted on 3-29-24. Color: yellow to light yellow. Aroma: cooked agave, vanilla, wood note that is quite intense, it is quite dominating but doesn’t bother, light acidity, hint of pineapple, light citrus. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, a touch of bitterness at the back of throat, pineapple, agave fibers through my retronasal. Wood note gets more intense as time goes by. Finish is medium to medium long, hint of cooked agave, light acidity, vanilla and wood note dominate the finish, although it doesn’t bother but lacks agave notes. Note to self: drink this tequila sooner than later after serving
Notes of farm, barn, and hay. A bit too strong of a finish for my taste in reposado.
