Honey, vanilla, oak and agave on the nose. Opens up with some floral notes and some baking spices. There’s definitely a little agave on the palate but the oak and vanilla overshadow it. A little bit of earthiness, and a bitterness that isn’t bad at all, just there. Some cinnamon. This would be very good but it’s a little thin and the finish is relatively short. Still, for $40 at Total Wine, this really isn’t half bad. I can’t really detect additives, and if they’re in there, they aren’t pulling the most weight. I may snag a full size bottle of this in the future, it’s a very easy, mellow sipper.
Pleasing nose of agave, earth and barrel spice. Nice mouth feel with some viscosity and the nose carries over to the taste with some added spice from alcohol and agave pepper. Some fading sweetness that turns to light bitter oak and tannic notes plus some alcohol.
