From the distillery that also produces Calle 23, Hotel California, Xoloitzcuintle and several other brands, this is a nice, somewhat rustic presentation. The brand logo of one eyed quarter moons facing each other on a paper label frame the phrase "Entre Luz Y Sombra" meaning Between Light and Shadow. Very aromatic as soon as the cork was removed, this is a bit medicinal initially but that disperses quickly leaving a nice cooked agave aroma. Sipping this brings an immediate earthy agave taste that upfront is highlighted by the minerals in the deep well water used to make this. Nice viscosity is joined by natural sweetness and then a slightly bitter root vegetable finish and some tongue tingle.

Very nice. Agave with some pepper and a hint of pineapple. The flavor tops both the aroma and finish. Excellent when you consider availability(total wine) and price.

Aroma(22): Agave, White Pepper, Grass, floral, Herbal, with hint of cinnamon. Taste(25): Agave, White Pepper, Minerals, Floral, Grass Finish(22): Better than I expected, great finish with floral and cinnamon notes. Overall: $40 from Total Wine. I thought I Was behind my push mower! Good Blanco for the $, enjoyed sipping but it also made a delicious Ranch Water.

Aroma: Earthy Cooked Agave mixes with a good amount of Herbal and Grassy notes. Citrus also plays a role. There is a fair amount of Cinnamon/Black Pepper with just a kiss of Nutmeg. Taste: Sweet Cooked Roasted Agave is accompanied by a Vegetal forwardness. There is an abundant amount of Earthiness. A good bit of Spicy Cinnamon and Black Pepper give a nice tinge on the tongue. Lime and Mint blend together for a balanced citrus/herbal blending. There is also nice Tropical notes of Pineapple and Guava. And on the end a very faint touch of Smoke is present. Overall this is a decent sipping Tequila. If you like a good roasted flavor with a lot of Vegetal notes, you'll enjoy this. Even as a Highland Tequila, this is more in line with Valley Tequilas with the flavor profile. TMM-84 Salud!!!

I don’t know why this caught my eye. Maybe it was the inverse of the thought that, the fancier the bottle, the worse what’s in it. I felt a bit of hope because some good tequila is made at the same distillery, like Xolo and so…here we go with Luna de Jalisco. Nose - I get an almost sour citrus note at first then agave. Licorice or anise is in there too. The citrus seems to stand out most. Palate - It’s a bit thin, but not watery. Agave and that licorice are there but a little muted. Earth and pepper at the end. Is it terrible? No. But it ain’t no Xolo. I’ll try it as a mixer and it can be sipped in a pinch, but there’s so much better even at the 40 buck price.

On the nose, it takes a bit to get the alcohol out of the way. You do get some agave notes. On the mouth, it’s not bad, some agave and citrus. Not a bad price, it worked well with the ranch waters.
