One the best blanco releases of 2024!
Vessel: CT Trail Jarrito Nose: minerality, cement, mint, ggave, limestone, grass, salt Body: light to medium Palate: agave, jalapeño, anise, cement Finish: agave, jalapeño, cream soda, citrus, spearmint There's definitely a signature cascahuin influence, but it seemed a bit milder than some of the other expressions from the distillery. I still got that concrete and minerality, but maybe with a bit less herbal influence that I often find in harmony with the minerality and petrochor notes that the Cascahuin distillery is known for. Still, this is another solid release from 1123 and probably my favorite from the Montagave lineup to date.
The mouthfeel on this is amazing. Great subtle sweetness from the agave almost like a honey suckle. Loads of pepper, and nice citrus zest. On the nose I get wet concrete, wet cement and tons of minerality
tried this at Ember & alma Marlboro MA dec 14, 2024 you get the minerality immediately as expected. also got some citrus, mint, agave & anise. really enjoyed this one!
Nose - mineral, alcohol, agave, grassy, vegetal Palate -cooked agave, white pepper, brine, minerals Finish - cooked agave, mineral finish with slight pepper
Nice level of minerality, with citrus, pepper, mint and jalapeno. Very well done.
This is damn near perfect. I’ve got nothing else to add that would be helpful.
What a great long-term sipper! It 45% abv and is still easy to drink with a rewarding finish. Lots of mint, roasted agave, cinnamon, and olive. There’s also a sweet creamy finish that follows every sip.
To be clear I have a preference for 1123. My palate and nose love most products coming from this distillery and I admit I have a bias. Nose: Agave, salt, anise, brine, cement, minerals, hay, pear, earth, grass and spearmint. Palate: Agave, mint, light viscosity and comfortable mouthfeel with some black pepper. Crisp and pleasant to sip but I definitely got more from the nose than from the taste. Beautiful summer sipper and extremely easy to drink so beware at 90 proof! Finish: Easy roll of black pepper off the tongue that lasted for 10+ seconds and left me wanting more.
Super solid! Bright and crisp. Tons of minerality. Find one, buy one
Minerality maximum! An austere, sharp, refined blanco. Super interesting. Not a ton of residual sweetness, but if you like gravelly blancos ( like me) this is the bomb.
Nice clean agave on the nose with a delicious sweet palate and finish. I like this
Very nice. My favorite Montagave.
Very unique fermentation with a cement egg. I believe the first of its kind. I love anything Cascahuin does when they ferment in their legendary cement tanks. This was different. A little mellower, some nice citrus notes, easy to sip. Herbal notes, the 45 ABV was a nice touch, low heat. Nice finish
Nice minerality, agave fwd, nice balance, some fruitiness, nuttiness, good stuff
On the nose there's a lot of cooked agave, minerality, mint, and a little alcohol. Lots of layers on the tongue. First agave and licorice sweetness (not anise - it's too mellow for me to describe as anise). Then some minerality and mint start to overtake as the dominant flavors. As it finishes, it morphs into that classic Lowlands salty/briny/green olive flavor that I love. Maybe the best finish I've ever had. It just lingers and fades through those flavors.
Classic Cascahuin profile, high mineral, cooked and raw agave, citrus, wet grass, minty, earthy, light vegetal and anise! Solid blanco, must try! Not sure on the price, got a pour at a blind tasting event in Denver!
Classic Cascahuin flavor yet subdued hay. The minerals & wet cement just lock this one down. I think the egg was a success! I like this better than Cascahuin tahona because the hay flavor is not elevated. If it stays available I will continue to buy it for sure!
Bottle: LOTE 584, 300824 Appearance: Clear Initial thoughts… Nose: Agave, minerality, alcohol Palate: Agave, cinnamon, and olive Finish: Spicy, hot, and long Full review pending…
En el olor rápido se siente cemento mojado, cítrico, agave y especias como orégano, en el paladar es picoso en la lengua pero no al bajar, menta y minerales. Este tequila es un palo
Sweet agave and citrus. I'm really enjoying this cascahuin Blanco
Nose-funky agave earthy smell, sweet and peppery. Taste-earthy agave-peppery, smooth with minimum to no alcohol linger.
Agave, citrus, earthy, anise, slight buttery feel.
Lote 584 300824 Nose: mineral, fresh rain, slight funk, fruit basket Taste: cooked agave, white pepper, minerality, cement Finish: white pepper, mint,
