NOM 1593 | New on the market. From Guanajuato. Aroma is earthy with minerals and plenty of agave. Taste is good with more minerals, baked agave and plenty of pepper. It’s a bit like tasting the desert on a windy and dusty day. Quite thick, oily in the mouth. Coats very well. Finish is warm/hot in a good and long lasting way. This is good maybe really good. It’s the well tequila at Lions share in San Diego.

NOM 1593 | From the label "Crafted by a community effort of agaveros, Real Del Valles was born in Guanajuato." Only a couple of Tequilas exist from the fringes of the DO and this is one of them. Very inexpensive, on first seeing this brand I let myself be suspicious of the newer NOM and the price tag and assume the worst about the production. After some discussion with folks I trust I pulled the trigger on a purchase. Turns out this is OK to my palate with no weird artifacts or flavors. Pungent agave nose mixed with a bit of ethanol. Neutral mouth feel and a bit thin with not a lot of oil or coating the mouth, natural sweetness from roast agave and a hint of vegetal bitterness on the short finish.

$28 a bottle. Nose and taste are fair at best. Mixer only for me. Wouldn’t buy another bottle or recommend.

Aroma: sweet and almost sweet/sour candy like. Taste: Vanilla spiced and smooth sweetness but mellowed with aging in bourbon barrels. Very enjoyable and great sipper.

Unique taste, smooth finish, excellent mixer and sip worthy...high value Blanco. Top 3 Blanco for me at $30 or less. As I often experience with Blancos the longer the bottle had been open the more I enjoyed sipping it. The flavor profile did remind me at times of a low smoke mezcal and that's a good thing.
