The aroma wafts with brine, earthy cooked agave, and green vegetal notes reminiscent of celery and green pepper. Hints of candied yam and vanilla emerge, balanced by ethyl undertones, minerality, and a touch of mint. On the palate, the cooked agave shines, immediately met with a forward brine character that dominates. Green vegetal notes and ethyl intermingle with soft vanilla, underpinned by a distinct minerality. Herbal nuances of sage, cooling spearmint pair with a subtle sweetness of sugar cane, though it feels more understated in this newer iteration. The finish is spicy and minty, tapering off with lingering notes of yam. This iteration doesn’t taste too different from the previous. More brine forward with vegetal notes and less pop of sugar cane sweetness.

$43 pickup in CA Aroma: Raw vegetal agave jumps out of my glass from the start. Soon followed by some mild sweetness with undertones of fruit. Elements of olive, cinnamon, cherry, cider, and lavender also pop. Sweetness and caramel really come through as it gets more air. Palate: Light to medium body and mouth feel. Mix of cooked and raw agave in the front palate. Settles into sweetness and fruit. Pear, cider, cherry, and grape to be found. Finishes with plenty of spice and mild heat. Medium mouth numbing Let it breath

NOM 1646 | I hate it when you write something up and the lose it. I find the nose on this very unique. I get grapes which may be a first for me. The nose is sweet with smells like I am at the fair. I think this is AF but it is so unusual that I am not 100 percent sure. On the palate, it is also sweet. Lovely notes that remind me of having a dessert. If you have someone that wants a good tequila that has a sweet profile, this is it.

NOM 1646 | Sampled at LATF from a small plastic cup. Will need to revisit with proper glassware, but I enjoyed the profile.

NOM 1646 | Lot: CAB40001, Parcela El Crucero II, tasted on 8-24-24. Aroma: raw agave, quite herbal & mineral, slightly minty, light acidity, hint of citrus, light orange, slightly sour. Hint of metallic note that softens as time goes by. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, ethanol sensation is medium to medium high, hint of metallic harsh note is present on the palate too. Finish is medium to medium long, light raw agave, light orange, herbaceous, hint of metallic note with a hint of sourness persists.
