I dig all G4, but lot 1 is better for me.
Nose: cooked agave / pepper / earth / grass / lime / lemongrass / hay / tea / musty / lactic Taste: cooked agave / pepper / cinnamon/ vegetal/ minerals/ banana/ apple / lime / bell pepper/ lemongrass/ tea / peppermint Finish: ultra clean watery / fast dissapating / leaves a good long bitter, pepper and mint finish This blanco has some powerful taste notes, but not all of them work together. The moments of delicious are few and far between, with lingering pepper taste
Definitely nice fermentation influence on this one. You’d think this was barrel rested. Has a strong smell of agave green apple and minerals. Taste of cooked agave, caramel and a touch of cinnamon. Wish I had better tasting notes on this one but I can say it one of my favorites and is unique for a blanco. The 90 proof works very well with this tequila. More tasting notes added on 6/18/24. The viscosity has a soft oily mouthfeel. I love how the agave sweetness envelops your mouth. Getting a bit of black pepper that I didn’t describe above. This has a nice finish with a bit of alcohol burn. I have ordered lot 3 so a comparison will be coming.
Nose: green apple, brine citrus. Taste: cooked agave, vegetal and anise Finish is excellent, cooked agave and great balance of pepper/heat
Agave is the star on the nose & pallet, cinnamon, herbs, minerals, floral, citrus, bright and delicious all around, finish is medium, very nice, not too soft or strong, perfect for my taste, one of my favorites, right there with Fortaleza lot 150/SS maybe better given the price point!
Very similar in profile to its older sibling Lote #1 Madera. Sour apple, pears. Lote 2 might have a little more pronounced pepper and mineral presence. Salinity, and caramel/butterscotch undertone. Lote #2 profile is a little more mellow, or polished than lote #1. And maybe it’s my imagination, but I think the small amount of fiber in the first lote added some depth of flavor not found in lote 2. Both lotes are Blue Ribbon.
Agave bomb! Aroma: minerals, earth, citrus, pepper! Flavor: agave, minerals, pepper, spices. Nice subtle heat on the finish.
Complex but uniquely and consistently asparagus
I recently completed a side by side tasting of Lot 1,2 and 3. Independently I enjoy each one of them but once l had them side by side I was able to distinguish which one I preferred. Check my rating on the other lots to see which I rated the highest. They are all delicious and to think 10% of this goes into every blanco bottle is such a treat.
Revisiting this. Great agave nose looking forward to tasting it again. Almost silky mouth feel, great cooked agave flavor and minerals. Not a real lingering finish of the added proof.
Great flavor.
I rated Lot 1 at a 91 and this rates the same at 91. An amazing low lands blanco with plenty of agave and vegetal notes. Clean, crisp, smooth.
I like this better than reg blanco Nose straight agave and woody like wet logs
Coats the glass and stays there. Strong smell of agave. The pallet varies…. At bottle opening there was a funky Lactic or cheesy flavor that wasn’t my favorite. Sometimes it’s agave, hint of grapefruit, pepper, smoke, vegetal. Sometimes I only get agave and a sweetness. Drying earthy finish. Conflicted in a score due to that funky lactic flavor.
This is outstanding. Nose has agave and buttercream. Reminiscent of Fortaleza Blanco. Flavor is very crisp agave with vegetal and green bell pepper notes. Long and pleasant finish. This is a phenomenal blanco, and one of the best tequilas I’ve ever had.
Lot: 03 View: totally transparent. Excellent tear adhesion. Freshly served; Aroma: very pleasant, lactic, sweet, acidic, slightly herbal, mineral, characteristic of “El Pandillo”. Taste: a little salty, alcoholic, herbal. It surprises me a little because the flavor does not correspond to the smell, the aroma is much more pleasant. Aftertaste: a lot of black pepper. I let it oxygenate for 20 minutes. Smell: opened to citrus and a little spicy, a lot of black pepper. Taste: opened to sweet. Herbal and citrusy, much better than just served. Mineral, copper. Aftertaste: herbal and citrus. I leave it for 10 more minutes, to give it a total of 40. I don't notice any changes in the aroma. Flavor: sweet, herbal and citrus. I expected a little more at this price range.
Legitimately one of, if not the best smelling blancos I’ve ever come across! Absolutely delicious. Lots of cooked agave sweetness, citrus, earthiness and minerality. Excellent mouthfeel. Highly recommend this one!
Tasted at a restaurant, lot unknown. $20 pour Aroma - very herbal and minty. Minerality. Taste - sweet and peppery agave. Little fruity and earthy. Finish - tastes earthy and fruity like a wine. Madeira influence coming out? Very good tequila, I prefer regular G4 to this. Points off for price and availability.
April 2024 Bought at Macadoodles on recommendation from Lukas. He pulled out of the back for me. Around $74. Aroma is a sweet cooked agave. Possibly the best nose I’ve experienced on a blanco. Initial taste is sweet, which is no surprise after the incredible aroma. There is a mineral, earthy flavor, and as expected, a strong agave flavor. I detect notes of floral or light herbal as well. The finish is long and strong with the agave just lingering on the tongue. Overall this is one of the best blanco tequilas I’ve had.
Aroma: citrus, pine, and agave Taste: matches the aroma exactly along with some pepper and light heat Finish: short-medium, but extremely pleasant Overall: extremely tasty. Like nothing I’ve had thus far. Because of the initial aroma I was expecting some cinnamon and caramel but instead it’s basically a citrus bomb topped with agave and pine. Very unique.
scents of oak, cooked agave, herbs, earthy, minerality, fresh taste: agave sweetness, green pepper, cracked black pepper, citric acid like bite, vegetal earthy undertone
This Blanco is filled with earthy, mineral aromas with sweet hints of agave. It leaves long legs on your glass. Its flavor is packed with pepper, grass, citrus, and has a hot but amazing viscosity. The heat doesn’t last long but the flavors linger, making you reach for your glass for another sip!
2/28/24 Bottle 11,626 of 12,096 This is my 2nd bottle of a full case, grabbed it while I could with the generosity of Southern Spirits. Citrus & pepper on the nose, very light. Agave across the front with apple notes; more citrus, agave, almond & vanilla across the palate; slight burn along with more apple & pear on the backend. Super great deal at under $100!!!

nice nose and good palate. Still prefer Lote 1 but it’s good
