NOM 1609 | Candy sweet. Nose of vanilla and caramel. The taste is full on sweet. Artificially sweet. I can see this will appeal to the masses that don’t know what agave tastes like. Not for me.

NOM 1416 | Loads of sweetness on this one and not in a pleasant way with very little cooked agave in here much like the Blanco. Nose: loads of vanilla and caramel with some butterscotch, oak, black pepper, and alcohol. With cooked agave, not being the star of the show here. Palate: overly sweet and even artificial here. Loads of vanilla and caramel with butterscotch, black pepper, and alcohol. Not much cooked agave on this one. You can definitely tell there are additives in this one as it is overly sweet and not much cooked agave present. Not a fan of this one at all.

Nose: Caramel, bubble gum, cotton candy, sugar, and general thick sweetness Flavor: Good mouth feel, very sweet, cotton candy, rich fake caramel, bubble gum, mild oak. This tequila was a gateway tequila for me and helped me get into tequila. I used to love this pour, especially for margaritas, but going back now is hard for me to ignore the clear overwhelming additives that have been used.

Reminded me of Ben & Jerry’s Americone Dream ice cream. Notes of artificial vanilla, caramel, baking spices and no agave. This could go really well with an affogato

NOM 1416 | This is an absolute additive bomb. Only way I see myself drinking this is if there’s not other option and I have to drink tequila.

Heavy aroma of artificial vanilla. Taste is in-line with the aromas. Not for me, but happy I finally had an opportunity to try Casamigos.

NOM 1609 | Ok. Crazy aroma with some agave, butter and lots of cream soda. Aroma is good. Taste is ok but flat. Finish is almost nonexistent. Nom 1609.

NOM 1609 | Not terrible but not great. Light agave can be traced with citrus, slight oak and loads of vanilla (smell and taste). Almost like a vanilla frosting. Seems like there may be stuff added to this one.

NOM 1416 | This is the most artificial of the 3. Nose and taste are extremely sweet, that cupcake frosting of the blanco intensifies to 11. Mouthfeel is the same across all 3.

NOM 1416 | Forming my opinion on tasting the original repo. Less sweet than the current repo ... smooth, easy sipper

NOM 1416 | Like the Anejo, I was a bit skeptical. However I really enjoyed this Repo. Taste, aroma and finish were excellent. A quality rested tequila.

NOM 1416 | Green apple, nutmeg & everything baking spice(y). Retains the tilt towards sweetness with a long finish.

NOM 1416 | Tasting this one again. Good aroma with agave and some spice. The taste is incredible for a reposado. Maybe too incredible. Lots of flavors from cinnamon to butterscotch and more. Is this all real? I hope so. Finish is fine. EDIT: Just talked to the representative who works for casamigos and she swears to no additives. She talked about using smaller barrels when aging adding to the cornucopia of flavors in the reposado.

NOM 1416 | Tasted blind. I inadvertantly made no comment for this. I rated it lowest of the 6 reposado tequilas.

NOM 1416 | Aroma: Lots of sweet notes. I get bits of cinnamon, caramel, vanilla and cooked agave. Very nice and complex. Flavor: A lot of those same notes from the aroma are here in the flavor. But, I think the overwhelming note that I would use to describe this would be toasted marshmallows. Finish: Might be a bit light on the finish but it's still super solid.

NOM 1416 | Aroma of mint and citrus with a little licorice. Flavor is mint and sweet vanilla with just a small amount of spice at the end. The finish lingers nice and warm at the back of the mouth. Overall, a nice, easy-drinking reposado. But, you are definitely paying for the celebrity name on the bottle. Also, I agree with Rick - I like the minimalist bottle design.

11 Things We Think We Know About Reposados

Until recently, we hadn’t cared much for reposado — tequila that has been aged in oak barrels from 2 to 12 months. It seems too middle-of-the-road: like blanco (no barrel aging) without the bite, añejo (aged for longer than a year) without the flavor. But
