NOM 1139 | Loved the approach this brand did. The only thing I disliked was the finish… I appreciate the tannic-end, but it also came with a defect sensation (also had that in the blanco) Would love to understand/breakdown it’s profile to understand if it’s a chemical component I’m not familiar with and I’m classifying it as defect.

NOM 1139 | Definitely one of the better aged tequilas i have tasted. And given it is made by 1139, La Altena, it is done right. It an añejo that could pass as an XA and not in a bad way. You will certainly get barrel on the nose and palate. But steamed agave is present. Honey, peppery, bark, earthy, mineraly goodness here. Another winner by Carlos.

NOM 1139 | Another well-aged tequila that takes the reposado a little bit further. All of the nice warm vanilla tones found in the Excellia reposado are here, plus a hint of citrus. This is an example of aging done right.

NOM 1139 | Just fine. Not quite up to the standards of other 1139s.

nom 1139 | I liked the repo better but this is nice. more than enough agave presence despite all the great barrel aged notes. caramel, pepper, citrus, apple, plum. fruity nose. less so on the palate. medium viscosity. some heat. pepper and some bitterness in the finish. there's a lot going on here. doesn't always work in concert together but it's interesting. solid.

This 2013 release from NOM 1139 is a true throwback—and one I seriously wish I could still get my hands on. This was a sample acquired through the Agave Swappers Facebook group. It opens with sweet, rich aromas of caramel, vanilla, and light oak that instantly draw you in. On the palate, it delivers smooth layers of toffee, cinnamon, and cooked agave. Easy to sip and incredibly nostalgic, this bottle is a reminder of how special some of the older releases really were.

NOM 1139 | Lovely red apples straight from the bat. Lots of incredible aromas come out flying from my glass - oak, chamomile, honey, tobacco and a bit of cinnamon. It's warm and inviting. I can't wait to taste it Oh my God!!! It's delicious; its natural sweetness is an incredibly balanced tequila with all the flavours coming and growing in your mouth. Its finish is terrific, with a little delicious bitterness. And there is agave flavour still!

NOM 1139 | NOM 1139 Aroma: Toasted Barrel, Agave, cinnamon, nutmeg, ethanol Flavor: cooked agave, oak, barrel spice, vanilla This was a very good anejo, I didn’t find it as agave forward as I was expecting. I did a side by side with an El Tesoro anejo and I preferred the ET anejo.

NOM 1139, I can’t understand the low rating of many people here, this tequila is exquisite, little dry taste due to the grapes from the sauternees casks, agave still comes through, well balanced, perfect for deserts, great price at 44 €

NOM 1139 | oak and agave smell. Peppery taste and agave. Dry finish for me- maybe cause of the casks? In any case, not my style.

NOM 1139 | Very good stuff with notes of cooked agave, apricots, citrus, baking spices, and a little chocolate. Not on level of other Carlos Camarena stuff as I don’t get much of a difference in these cognac and Sauternes casks as I do in his other añejos and extra añejos.

NOM 1139 | Herbal and fruit aromas overpowered by alcohol. Strong pepper flavor with an average finish. For the price, a weak añejo overall.

NOM 1139 | Very peppery. Not impressed. I did not pick up on the grand cru or cognac barrels. Good but not great at that price
