The aroma presents a rich array of scents, including cooked agave, walnut, white sugar, vanilla, baked sweet potato, peppermint, lime citrus, and warm ethyl. On the palate, flavors of warm peppermint, anise, baked sweet potato, and mint unfold, accompanied by a distinct blast of ethyl heat and a hint of grassiness that transitions slightly sourly into the finish. In the dry down, lingering notes evoke reminiscences of bitter white wine and sour citruses, leaving a long-lasting impression, albeit for me, not completely favorable.

Herbal, floral and agave. A little bitterness on the finish but retains agave finish. I could sip this but I’d rather mix it.

this mixto is made the right way, with no additives, and Polincillo unrefined sugar. This is better than most celebrity Tequilas and many others as well. I can sip this and enjoy it.

The only mixto on the market worth having. Approx 70% blue Weber agave and using Polincillo (unrefined Mexican cane sugar) makes the difference here over other mixtos. Aroma of cooked agave, pepper, cinnamon and citrus. Flavor mimics the aroma, and it is not overly sweet. Pepper lingers nicely on the finish. Great mixer and I would drink this neat over most celebrity brand blancos. Bonus points for a great price $24

I love using this for cocktails. I didn’t mind sipping but obviously the platino is better for sipping. I love that’s is made with Piloncillo syrup and no additives as a mixto tequila.

Aroma of apple cider slight minerality hard to find the agave on the nose, which makes this somewhat complex… different on the palate, cooked agave, black pepper, citrus peel and minerals.

Fun to try a mixto that is good. Not a lot of complexity but it’s not bad. You could sip this or put it into a cocktail.

Aroma: this is different. I’m not sure I’m picking up much agave. I get a kind of sour fruit smell, almost like wine. Some citrus- lemon and lime. There’s something in the smell that I’m struggling to get past, like a cheesy funk. Flavor: more sour fruit, like peach that’s not quite ready, a little grapefruit. I pick up just a hint of agave but not much. After the initial pop of fruit it fades to the same flavor I pick up in the aroma. It’s a cheesy, lactic flavor. Finish: gives me a pop of heat and fades pretty quickly. Overall: I like pretty much everything I’ve had from El Tequileño but this ones not for me. I haven’t had many mixtos so it could be that I don’t have a great frame of reference for this product. Gets a bit of a bump because it does mix well.

Cooked agave, more cooked agave on the nose than platino

On the nose, citrus, like fresh squeezed orange juice, and peel. Then cooked agave underneath. Some salinity, and a grassy/earthy note. On the palate, Tangy, and that citrus note is there. The best way I can describe it is orange juice from oranges that weren’t ripe yet. Cooked agave is there, a bit acidic and slightly astringent, almost soapy. It’s okay, I don’t love it. Maybe it needs to rest, it’s surprising coming from the Tequileño family. Definitely toying with the idea that I got a bad bottle.

Probably the best mixto money can buy. Great for cantaritos, charros negros and all sorts of mixed drinks. If forced I could sip it but it’s not really its purpose.

Wanted to try it. Nothing to write home about. I wouldn't pick it for my sipper but I'm sure it would be a great mixer which is it's intended use

Not bad for a mixto but still not my cup of tea. Loads of citrus, some agave, and some kind of funkiness

This is the only mixto in their lineup. It is 70% agave and the other 30% is from piloncillo (from unrefined sugar cane). Aroma of agave and green apples. Flavor of agave and faint cinnamon. Medium finish.

Wanted to try a quality Mixto, and I wasn’t disappointed. Not a great Blanco that I want to sip regularly, but not bad at all. I prefer a strong cooked agave flavor in blancos, and at 70% this Mixto is still better than some 100% blancos of lesser quality.

This is probably the best mixto you will find, with 70% blue agave. Balanced, slightly sweet, very smooth. And it’s the only tequila they use for the “La Batanga” at La Capilla in Tequila. Enough said.

Pretty amazing for a mixto, it’s 70% agave and that’s enough to give some depth to the agave that I didn’t expect. Nutty, oily finish that I’m eager to try in a margarita.

Not bad for a mixto. Some grassy notes along with green agave and some alcohol. Not as enthralled with as some reviewers as there are many many more 100% agave products in the market I would rather drink. Sipping this straight up I was surprised though.

Has a metallic aroma to it. Some agave, and grass. The metallic aroma continues in the flavor with sweetness. Finish is a little sharp and rough. But, it’s not bad for a mixto

Cinnamon and light colored tree fruit. Flavor: caramel, cinnamon and cloves. Nice in the mouth. Blind tasting 4/28/2019. Excellent for a mixto.
