From a sample given to me by a friend. Nose: Reminiscent of the older El Tesoro aged tequilas (from around the same time) due either to barrels used and/or long time glass resting, agave, flowers, a sweetness that reminds me of the Don Julio 1942 I had, but natural and better. Palate: similar notes from aroma, minerals, alcohol. Finish: long, peppery, slightly spicy (peppery). I prefer tequila around 46% alcohol. I often find it difficult to enjoy tequila at 50%+, but this is very much enjoyable, at 54.5% and doesn't immediately come across as a tequila with such a high ABV.
